Freestyle 300 SX build FINISHED!

I already ran a tube for the cable a few years back when I put in my cats system. The tube is still there from the part I grafted. Only issue is it was for a terrycable setup and now I need to be able to secure the steering cable at the end where it needs to lock in. I'm not sure what I'm more pumped about, the new hull or the new trim system.

Ahh.. I see. I will do some looking tonight and see if I can come up with idea.

some great news, my 951 sold on ebay today and I will soon be getting my motor from jetmanic. I still need some stuff, Ill make a list and if you can help me out let me know.

Limited B Pipe
starter and bendix
lw flywheel
yamaha throttle cable
motor mounts
stator
701 ebox
start stop switch
8/15 swirl prop for a 140mm kawi pump (or something that will work with this setup?)

Get an sxr impeller cut back for the 650 pump or run a 750 pump and will need no mods. Big hub all the way

Im running a 750 pump. only issue is I still have the 15/20 solas from the kawidoo swap.

Its going to be a guessing game getting the prop matched to the power of the motor, size of the pump in comparison to the size and weight of the hull. There was a 701 in a 750sx and he used an 8/15 swirl, he said it spun a bit down low but not enough to change it. My setup should be 50 to 75 lbs lighter than that. So Im open to suggestions.

Ive heard nothing but good things about this motor. I cant wait to try it out, Im afraid this may not see the water until october (it gets near freezing some nights in october here.) It would be nice to hit the water at least once before its too cold, then Ill have all winter to make it perfect and buy all kinds of under hood bling.

I'd still call up Dave at Impros. They are the impeller pros (duh). Most will agree that their Hooker is the shiz, and they rarely steer anyone in the wrong direction.

I think most of us can guess all night long about an impeller, but how many people have run a ported 718 through a 750 pump?

That said, I'll be running a 13/18 Concord cause that's what I have.

tomorrow I cut the foam and glass up the nose

Different build, I want to see how it turns out.

Give me a length for your throttle cable...

No different from any of the other 300sx builds. Im kinda following this build http://www.pwctoday.com/f12/anyone-do-sj-rn-300sx-freestyle-build-261649.html Ended up at 254 lbs with a 701 in it. Im going with the same tubbies he has on that one and the only thing Im doing different from his build is running a kawi pump with hydraulic trim and your motor. In the end it should be pretty nice. Never rode a BOB, but Im hoping it compares to the videos I have seen.

No clue on the cable length, I was going to just use a superjet cable and let the slack disappear up front somewhere I wont see it.

here is a quick plan for the trim system. It will have aluminum plates on both sides to keep water out. the cut off steering cable will be held in the aluminum block with a set screw, the way the force will be put on it it wont be trying to pull it out, rather push the cable housing further into the block. I have already cut the steering cable housing with the inner wire out. I will use a cable stop on the end of the wire from the steering cable. Im told the hydraulic assembly has a 1" travel

Im done for a few days. this weekend was a lot of work. to anyone considering this build, if you can afford it buy the BOB hull. There will be well over 100 hours in this by the time Im done. I enjoy projects, and will have the satisfaction of doing it myself when Im done, and my 3500.00 but yeah, this is a TON of work

I like the way the nose looks. Blue finished assembling/painting your motor and should have some pics up soon.
