300sx build

Couple comments:

You say it is too nose light. Maybe pull the d-cut plate and throw a stocker back on. That way you wouldn't have to mess with other stuff.

Also you stated from now on you are gonna go 750 or bigger. That is a great idea. There are sooooooooo many kawi 750s out there that can be grabbed up cheap. It's actually cheaper to buy the whole damn ski instead of hunting for an engine. (I am sure you know that) People are practically giving away 750SS and 750 STS etc right now.

There is a 300SX on my lake and every year I ask the owner if he is ready to sell it. Maybe this will be my lucky year. I want to set it up for my nieces and nephews to kick around on. Wanna get them hooked on standups while they are young.

Really cool build(s). :woot:

I have a Westcoast plate for an X2 that I cut down to fit the 300SX,the four rear holes line up, you just have to cut the front of the plate and bolt it on,I will be trying that as well as a stock ride plate without the d-cut. There is some downthrust angle built into the 650 pump setup that I installed ,that should also help keep the nose down somewhat.

Yo! Is that rectangle tube I see a giant scupper tube? or battery box?
Actually the stock water box slides into it and the steering cable comes in there,I will probably remove it but its in there pretty good,I will have to cut it out if I want it gone.

Update time, mounts for the pump are glued in ,waiting on the epoxy to dry then I will glass over the inserts top and bottom to make this as strong as I can get it.I would not suggest to anyone else to do it this way,its time consuming and a PITA,glassing in aluminum bar stock from the bottom would probably be a better option here. And yes I know the driveshaft is not in straight.

Ok, just wanted to make sure that you know that I know, and we both know.

Do you think Travis knows? We should probably tell him.

Many thanks to Crammit for the driveshaft that made this conversion possible. I shot a few pics of various stuff, the oversize bilge system, new cooling line, glassed inserts for the pump, the resonator and some other exhaust stuff. I am redrilling the plates I used to mount the 550 in with and using them for the 650, that will get this moving a long a little faster and get it where I can water test it to see whats what. I ended up using a 750 SXI driveshaft donated by Crammit and two 550 couplers to move the motor forward three inches, yeah I know what you are thinking but this is my sons ski and I want it to be well balanced and ridable, if it backflips thats fine , if not thats fine too.

According to DK they have never even seen my thread, I am sure they never saw several of the other threads it spawned over at PWCT either, it doesn't matter really, I still have my $3500.00 in my pocket.

This is the progress so far today, pump, intake grate and ride plate installed, steering cable lengthened, engine installed, wired , plumbed and electrical box mounted, exhaust run and plumbed , all thats left really is installing the handlepole, and hooking up the start stop switch steering and throttle cables and slapping on a piece of turf.Everything fits like a glove,I would like a little more clearance on the exhaust but I will deal with that later. :woot:
