good news. I am back to my favorite thing..... NO SPARK!!!!!! AAAHHHHHHHH!
I have pulled my MSD tried the Previosly working CDI and Still nothing. I charged my battery last week and it was still good (it took like 5 minutes on trickle charge to be 100%).

Right now the battery is on the tender and its taking a while so hopefully i just have a low battery and i will regain my spark. I am VERY sick of pulling ebox and switching compontents. I would rather pull my engine 3 times then troubleshoot this anymore. Or as John would say I would rather staple my nuts to the workbench.

Spoken like a true champion! haha

Both of my batteries were down around 5-7 volts. It could be the battery but I would think you'd notice the starter spinning slower before you quit getting a spark. Since I've encountered just about every electrical problem I can think of, you might want to seriously look into your start stop switch. Rip that thing apart, open up each switch, and make sure they're good and clean. An ohm meter isn't a bad idea for the switch either.

i did a resistance check on the start stop switch and it showed good, charged the battery still no look. I can rip my splices apart in the start stop switch but as of rigth now i give up and i dont have any other ideas. beside the start stop switch:banghead:

well after leaving the ski and thinking about. You have to be right john its gotta be the start stop switch. I have nothing else really to try. I did the resistance check on the stator which was 89 something and John at JSS said arond 90 is good. I have used both CDIs last working and MSD. Maybe the stop button is stuck down. We will see tomorrow.

lol i didnt even notice that. :nono:

Neither did anyone else until you pointed it out. LOL

You guys ready to ride yet or still messing with little things? I am on call this weekend but could come for a drive and help troubleshoot. Maybe drop off my 96 for some footholds at the same time.

Switches should be open (no contact at all) normally and when you press the button the metal ends connect and you should have no resistance. The switches themselves are easy enough to disassemble and look inside. Just remember they are spring loaded and the spring won't fly across the room but don't be too careless.

Stator or pickup was bad on my JSS stator. AHH! I sent it back to john to have him take a look cause it tested good but as soon as i put my old stator on i had spark. Then i found out that my used MSD wasnt working either. So i am sending that back and i ordered a brand new one.

Got the ski on the water today. Much better but i am still not happy. But then again i am running a stock CDI and no timing advancment. I couldnt get the screws off my pick up to run my extra plate.

Jetting was LEAN! I went up to a 145 and a 78 and it can probably go up again. 148 and 80 is what i will put in before next ride.

Wow, what the heck were you running before? I know you richened up the jet before going out and you have a 42mm carb but still. I thought stock was 145, 75. My 40mm runs a 155, 80 even though FP recommends 155, 88. Wouldn't a bigger carb require bigger jets?

i was running a 140 and a 72 when i had just the pipe and carb and it was good! The cold doesnt help though either. I will have to change it again in the summer most likly.

It looks good. I think I would paint the start/stop switch black. I would also wear a helmet all the time on the ski because the chin pad looks like a tooth removing system.

John i forgot to tell you i rode on the hood the last time i went out. the handhold and the turf extension made it very easy. I know you compared riding a 750 hood to balancing a log but the new setup worked real well for that.
