Freestyle Ada head not sealing

Yep jetskis make you feel like a kid again.

All of you seem like very passionate people who, like me are trying to do it right, and I applaud you for that. We all have stuff to learn. I am scaling back here to focus on what's more important for me.

Cheers

Took the jugs to my guy and they are insanely far off. No way the head was going to seal. So he’s going to press the sleeves to make sure they are completely seated then deck it flat. Since I had the barrels off I decided hey why not take the cases out of the hull to clean it up a little. Now the hull is bare as I went nuts with all the half a** stuff that was done by the previous owner. Got a list of sh** to do so let’s see what I can get done before the barrels are done being machined. Will it run before the seasons over? Who the heck knows! Find out on the next episode of dealing with other people’s bs!

So one of the sleeves was up 8 thousands which was pushing the entire head crooked. The sleeves were completely seated then the cylinders were decked like 10 thousands. Pretty minimal. Engine is back together and everything went good. Advance for anyone wanting to build one of these engines, the rings and sleeves are a pain in the a**. The place the rings open is right on the edge of the sleeves so it gets caught when trying to put the barrels on. Not too big of a deal just another piece of info. Still waiting on versiplugs to put in the hull then the engine will be going in. Got high hopes.

Good thing you did not just add base gaskets.

I dropped a tomato on the way to the grill. It made a big squish when I stepped on it. Squish is on the builder/machinist. This thread is about a sealing issue. Splat!

And we addressed it as such if you read the earlier pages. Just curious if it was checked, Did the machinist have the whole motor during this time? By the sound of it
he only had the cyl.

But to answer my own question I do aplogize for the outbursts, I saw something about 060 squish so -10 thou isn't gonna be significant. I just think it's cool to see the problem get solved and I like to see one stay together for awhile so I offered my 2ct! Later dudes and gal happy riding!

Are you making a joke and I am missing the sarcasm? Did anyone tell him to just add base gaskets?

I only advised him to check squish after decking and adjust if needed by using a thicker base gasket or cutting the domes. Never said to ‘just add base gaskets.’
