Freestyle Affordable Power......... It's COMING

Got another warm 60 deg day to test a few more ign curves and reduction nozzles, props and carbs.. Giving the new revised fs49s a shot next. Ed is also working with us tuning this motor and is going to create a new Full Spec carb for us to mate up with the SS motor to help create a nice powerful linear power curve...It will be slightly smaller than the 49 a diff type air horn, will flow much more than the prev style square top fs46 But just as important as our main goal...be priced affordable. Roughly half price $700 for duals. This is great news in the pursuit of affordable power!

Will they accept stock F/A for surf? I know it's restrictive compared to filters but to me I'd rather flow less air and have zero water ingestion issues. Not a deal breaker just a question

his jetting isn't optimal. try something outside the box.

I have seen quite a few people post about using reverse jetting in them,I tried it but for surf riding wasnt too impressed with it,If you have to get someplace like long slo wakes or long slow speed rides in ocean to the ride spot,We are trying to stay on clean fuel delivery just beneath gettin the motor on the pipe and not use a ton of fuel. Honestly i didnt make alot of reverse jetting changes as most jets I have are conventional sizes for dual 46 and 48..
Id like to hear some elaboration on this point, but its hard to believe anyone could know more about how to get almost any carb better tuned than ed,let alone a full spec.perhaps flatwater freestyle jetting and fuel delivery for making power for just quick backflips is different than racing or higher speed sustained freeride or trying to comfortably get somewhere on a ski?

i'm sure what we are doing now is going to get out. but when the carbs are right they don't burn that much gas. the 1200's are getting about a hour and 20 minutes to 5 gallons of fuel. that's pretty good for skis's that are constantly wtfo.

I love reverse jetting for a surf boat it works awesomely and will always be clean you just have to take the time to get the top jet set right.
If its dont right you can cruise around for hours in the surf and have it hit right. Conventional jetting just doesnt make the torque that reverse does. But if you want reverse to work its best then you also need a good ignition curve to go with it

I spoke with Ed about this awhile back, after I saw a few people post about reverse jetting full specs, its no secret..There are many fs 48 and 49 reverse jet specs listed here in the carb jetting data main thread. Eds response was it may be close but it could be better if he set them up on conventional jetting that is designed to work with his booster setup

I have used reverse jetting on every set of carbs I have tuned for the last 10 years except full spectrums. I have tried to tune some full spectrums about 8-9 years ago and found them very finicky to set up. This is not the right place to discuss this. Im more than happy to discuss my findings but not in this thread as its about this cool new cylinder

so lets keep the thread going...this option seems very nice due to power/cost/maintenance issues..I will need an engine in about a month so, I would like to see some vids/pics/rider reports...anything over what was posted already

maybe a silly question: would a properly jetted single 48mm BJ carb with vforce reeds be OK for this setup (970cc)?? Anybody tried this motor with bpipe and/o rPowerfactor pipe?
