Why? They prolly bore most of us. I get sleepy at 140 on one (true story!!) And I am serious as a heart attack about skydiving boring me to death. I could fall asleep in free fall. I could definitely catch a nap while under the chute.

Waves are the only thing that has caught and kept my attention enough to stick around.

I agree with you again. This is great! I can't believe we got Ross, Jerry and Slutty to post!

Bring on the overheads in Daytona biatches!!! And bring your ski and money.

even IF we get overheads in daytona (which we wont)......you wont be able to barrell them

neither will andrew
neither will taylor
etc etc

have only seen waves capable of barrelling a standup on MAYBE 2-3 days here EVER

Daytona 2010....Cherry buster....Sickest trick..........and now, new for 2010................CAGE MATCH!

:whatta ya think bill, how will the cali guy fare against the ohio guy?
: Well Bob, the cali guy's got way more surf experience, but the ohio guy seems to be very aggressive and really wants this win.
: Yes, and the cali guy, most likely existing on bean sprouts and sushi might have a slight protien disadvantage against the ohio guy who's been eating plenty of sausage, animal fats and hogies.
: True, but you can never underestimate the power of conviction and heart!
: that's right bob. This could go either way.
: that cali diet could just make the difference though....a little lighter in the tray, a little more spry, a little quicker reaction time......
: I'm really not sure which way this will go, Bill. It will be something to remember, for sure!
: The Vegas odds makers are chiming in........
It's dead even......they seem to like the ohio guy's guts! Even though cali guy has got him in every other catagory....
WOW THIS IS GONNA BE GREAT!.....................

dude, your making me cry

We're all starting to sound like Suzi b4 hurricane "Bill"!

maybe suzi hijacked matts keyboard!!!!

i guess i bring that up because mat was saying he was hoping for big surf in daytona to show he can get tubed.

not sure we get that kind of surf

only with perfect hurricane surf, the right tides and a full moon

Mat I applaude your attitude but as you well know with anything you do the first time there is a learning curve. maybe you get the understanding after the first or second or more times of attempting something. With this you don't get that opportunity of a second chance. its either perfect of you die.

If you think for a minute that all these guys are just jealous of your skills then just stop. you a pissing them off because you are making light of something that scares the hell out of them. and for good reason. We all should be scared. Its not Russian Roulette - there is no second chance. I think that guys that live thru that stuff are just the freak one off that didn't die due to experience, support, and a lotta luck.

I realize its winter but its still pretty early for the cabin-fever infighting though isn't it?

I do look forward to a showdown. I'm not against you but I think I would put my money on wydopen. nothing personal. but still I'd like to see a showdown.

then again wtf do I know?

...after seeing Matt in Niagara, and us going out in washing machine 13-15 footers several times that have sank Tankers, I have no doubt that he would go out and ride in anything.

I actually think Wydopen and Matt would hang out together and ride if they were both on the west coast, considering they both actually have similar riding styles. (Both like to carve and slash waves and do re-entries).

I have never ridden waves smooth enough that break correctly for anyone to get barrelled. I can't imagine that being easy at all.

Good for you bro...Matt, you still up for some cold water riding...our water is only 47 degrees right now....I don't think I would hit it in 24 degree air though! I want at least 45 degree air!

i think i'd rather drop in late on a 20 footer than get in 47 degree water. now you're talking about bravery.

nah, i wouldn't do either.

With the right gear, the cold water is not a big deal at all. It sounds scary and cold, but it's not bad at all.

EDIT: Damn, my riding shoes are frozen flat. Shouldn't have left them out. I had to come home and check on the kittens. We adopted two yesterday. :woot:

There won't be any "showdown" even if I was going to Daytona. I don't have anything to prove to anyone and I think matt has embarassed himself enough already. I'm finding it hard to believe he meant any of that stuff he posted. Anyways I still don't have a problem with the guy even after he insulted my riding as well as me personally. He just needs yo learn he's gonna get called out when he makes such outlandish claims that we all know are reduculace.
