Your words seem hostile, so I interpret that you are upset Emm (if so, I am sorry that you are)... maybe this will help:
I read about the program (elsewhere) that you are utilizing, prior to you initiating this thread. I think it is an excellent program, based upon my personal years of experience (which are many). I hope that you continue with it, for you seem passionate about it, which is good, and I think it can continue to benefit you, as well as others.
As for skis, I do not know if you even ride one, but I believe you do not, unless it is on occasion (no idea). If not, I hope that you will start, for it is great fun, and as you realize, that is what this site is about, stand-ups primarily. I recall you posting that you prefer to stay on the shore and drink beer (which is perfectly fine). I recall seeing you at two Tona Meets. I recall seeing you at Matanzas one time, and of course the surf is not viewable from there. So, I will expound upon your thoughts relative to injuries…
I have been injured while riding my ski twice, and that was from taking (what I was told) 8-12’ airs, flat landing both times unfortunately (neither wave was small). The first time was at Vilano in 2006, my first summer, and I knew nothing about stand-ups. I was having a blast too! That wave I caught my first “zero gravity”…just hanging in the air for what felt like a great eternity; I miss that feeling immensely too!!! The second time occurred shortly thereafter, and it probably could have been avoided, if I had not rushed back into the surf with my boot cast on my leg, like a dummie; yet, I was impatient to get back out there (I knew better too).
Anyone injured should consider such things, regardless of the athletic activity, and that is why I shared the information with everyone originally. After that, the specialist discovered I was at a precursor stage for osteo (runs in the family, and common to women); they advised me to surf ride instead. That was four years ago (think I have been riding a bit over seven years), and I have not been injured since (typically riding an average of three times a week, until recently due to responsibilities). You seem to bring it up in a hostile manner though, and so it really suited little purpose, until I clarified it for you and all. It really has nothing to do with your thread though, directly, yet it is good information now.
Stick with your program, or consider combining dance or gymnastics with it (or something else) as I suggested…entirely up to you. Again, I was offering you experience that I have had, and again, you can take it or leave it. I hope that helps.
