Anyone do crossfit? *video added*

parrdaddy

No he will not!
Today's WOD is going to suck.

For time:
50 Box jump, 24 inch box
50 Jumping pull-ups
50 Kettlebell swings, 35lbs
Walking Lunge, 50 steps
50 Knees to elbows
50 Push press, 45 pounds
50 Back extensions
50 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball
50 Burpees
50 Double unders

I did this one with a few changes for our equipment, I didn't get all the burpees in exchange for not messing up the floor! There is no way you could do it, you suck :lmao:

I am guessing you did this one right before you QUIT and decided you couldn't handle crossfit anymore?

We had a 45 min cutoff........I was in the 4th round when time was up. My goal was to get 3 complete rounds in so I did pretty good. My hands are blistered up after 90 freaking jumping pull ups.

Trainer made me use the heaviest kettlebell that I have ever used.....KILLED me. My back is already sore.....and my hip area is aching. I need to work on my thrusting :wiggle::biggthumpup:

And.....I actually did really well on the runs! I was looking forward to giving my hands a rest so the runs were my fav part. :lmao::highhorse:

and big ups to my friend ....Eva is not an easy first WOD!!!! :bananapowerslide:

almost 3 months into it and I am even more addicted :thewave:

been having a hectic time at work...finals next week...I needed to release some tension so I headed to the gym tonight.

It is coming a freaking MONSOON here...I mean....pouring down with wind gusts up to 35 mph right now (and it is cold)

400 meter run (Warmup)
For time:
Run 800 meters
30 Hip/Back Extensions
30 GHD Sit-ups
30 Hip Extensions
30 Knees to Elbows
30 Back Extensions
30 AbMat Sit-ups

running in the rain and wind just pumped me up. I hadn't been putting enough power into my GHD's so my trainer told me to imagine I was kicking someone....haha....some punk that called me fat and lazy came to mind and when it got to that part of the workout you could hear me across the gym knocking that damn GHD bench....I did my trainer proud I think :wiggle:

the knees to elbows slowed me down BIG time but I still got finished in 22 minutes...not bad for my first set of GHD's and back extensions (with pretty damn good form if I say so myself!)

Several people were close to Mr. Pukie because of the back extensions. I watched a guy waddle over in a complete daze to his abmat to finish up in some crazy time....pretty freaking sweet.

I am still pumped up!!! :brap:

Crossfit is a great workout, but one should not jump right into it. One downside is there are a lot of movements that put unwanted stress on certain joints and ligaments. I know a few ppl that have suffered injury do to crossfit. Either way it is a great to get and stay in shape, just don't go beyond your limits and watch your form when you are doing multiple repetitions.

Probably due to the fact that they weren't properly trained. Our trainers are big on proper form, etc. So that has not been an issue with anyone at our box. One of our trainers dropped into a box in Florida and they were doing deadlifts and the trainers were letting people deadlift with horrible form......which is really dangerous. Our main trainer/owner is a trainer for Crossfit headquarters as well so we are very lucky.....dude has almost perform form on every thing he does.

Today was the snatch.......glad it was my rest day.......extremely difficult oly lift to get.

crossfit is a pretty sick work out. Although I don't appreciate kipping pull ups at all. Maybe they are good for cardio, I don't know.

But I'd like to get a 45 bar and 2 45 lb weights off of craigslist and start doing the FRAN workout. Very awesome.

since I still do jumping pull ups so I can't really talk about them very much....but kipping really works your shoulders....and butterfly kips just look miserable!

Fran for fun? You are crazy!! haha

the hubby and I crossfit 5 days a week.....it is killer but so addictive. I actually have muscle tone now :lmao:

Thursday night put me on my arse .... 500m row...12 power cleans ....and 15 thrusters....5 rounds for time.

I forgot to change my weights out during my first round of thrusters....went to throw it up and realized my mistake and the weights flew behind me...luckily I didn't rip my shoulders out of socket...and no one saw it. WAY too heavy for me. I ended up taking a well needed rest day on Friday after that one. :bigok:

Not really FRAN for fun, what that guy did was amazing. But as an addition to my usual gym workout. I am usually pretty strict on strength gain, don't really care about weight gain or loss(but i do prefer weight gain). But if I could get the setup it would be a great boost to my stamina and overall muscle toning/fat burn.

And I would start off with like...5/5/5 reps FAN. Something really easy!

Oh it will work. You can follow the website and do most of the workouts at home or your globo gym.

Start off with lighter weights and do the full Fran.....just go up in weight as you get better. I do the full workout.....just lighter weight. I struggle with anything that requires weight over my head......very frustrating.....although I am only 10 pounds below the RX for women on Fran.

The website has videos on all of the exercises so you can work on your form. Make sure your squats are right......and slightly below parallel.....which people will tell you is bad for you but as long as you drive through your heels and not your toes they are perfectly fine. Knee problems shouldn't hold you back......I work out with a former Auburn football player that has had 10 knee surgeries and his knees make lots of noise but he is in there every night with us :)
