Other Att. Moderators ; New topic in for sale section

I have been wondering for while now,why we have not expanded the for sale section or seperated it into a section for whole skis and parts sections for the various mnf.

It would make searching for parts or complete skis much easier

x6 I often wondered why there is not a for sale section for the dealers? ( IE Jetmaniac, Steve UK, Thrust ) Let them advertise their items in one for sale section and keep the used parts from the everyday joe in another section.

How about a "Daily deal" or "todays special".

Being serious....and my mind starts to travel thinking of blue light specials. It is a great day.

Here are my thoughts.

Site traffic is down, not up, so in theory we'd be talking about combining forums, not creating more.

We have a ton of forums already, I'd rather be consolidating to make navigation easier. Some people cross-post already which fills up the 'new posts' search with duplicates.

We already have thread prefixes which are required to be used in the for sale section, one of which is Ski (maybe should be changed to Complete Ski?), which is searchable if you do an advanced search.

On the separate sections for dealers, again it would add another forum, plus if we did add that functionality, what determines who can post in there? Do they have to pay? Why pay when they can post for free already, so do we prevent companies from posting if they don't "pay up"? Do they get a forum each? This topic has been talked about quite a bit between myself and a few others with no general consensus on how to handle it.

Those are my thoughts, it's open to whatever the general consensus is.

I think a dealer only section would be great. It would keep us dealers from clogging up the used parts section. This could benefit both the dealers and the consumers.

As for who can post in the "Dealers" section; it should be legitimate, full time parts dealers who have a retail/commercial establishment. Perhaps the "Vendor Announcement" forum could be changed to the "Dealer Sales" forum.

As far as paying, I would like to do the paid subscription option but cannot find where to do it. I feel like X-h20 is a great outlet for exposure for me and it's only fair I support the forum & site.

x2 on the dealer sale section or make it a subforum off the sale section? Would make it easier to find stuff/navigate.

To offset the extra forum can probably do away with the new products section and let those posts fall into general ski related.

I think it would be appropriate for said dealers to pay $50.00 - $100.00 a year to be able to put ads in a separate section, thats pocket change considering members would have more direct access and it would benefit both the dealers and the members by doing it that way.

As for who can post there, post a copy of your business license and given it is legit ,pay and start posting. The main benefit I see for the members is the knowledge that they are dealing with a legitimate business.

so long as this helps to remove dealers who have more than one account...
