check the start/stop switch, be careful, they can ohm out fine but still have an issue. I chased a similar problem, ski would just shut off at trandom times. You can also turn your idle way down and disconnect the black and white leads of the s/s, you can't shut the ski off when you do this but that is why you turn the idle down...just another way to trouble shoot it.
guess i missed that, just trying to help. Maybe he disconnected the wires but forgot to plug the lanyard in when checking spark??...i dunno...only a couple things can cut the motor out like that
