U girls sound like a sewing circle. Relax Francis.

True it sucks bad if the tray broke and the pipe has a dent, but playing "what if" scenarios with people dying is a bit much.
How about contact Steve and try to talk to him? Seems like everyone has different experiences with Steve...u might have better luck calling him first before torching the guy. I don't care one way or the other and I feel for the owner, but u guys are all revved up and dumping gas on the flames.

I dont think a "what if" scenario ic too much to consider. If you are locked tight in the footholds and you are riding in big surf and after you land some big air, the tray gives out underneath the foothold.....you might not want to be in that position. Im not trying to start an argument...people have died under more unusual circumstances, but it should be considered.

Im pretty sure Steve won't do ANYTHING to help these guys, other than make empty promises.
Steve is great at talking, and promising people a lot and telling how good he's stuff is, and how good he's service is. But when poop hits the fan, he docent do anything to back he's word up.
Let me just show you the last words i "spoke" with Steve. He hasn't down ANYTHING to send me back my money or take any action. Just plain stole my 5500 usd.
So my advice is, stay as far away from this hustler, as possible.

I did address my concerns with Steve about the tray area and front foot hold on my ski. I was told the flex was normal and he has never had an issue. Whether that's true or not I don't know. I wasn't comfortable with it and i didn't feel like rolling the dice so I took care of it now while its still a bare hull.

this is the first chan ever built and i think its the lightest at about 45 lbs. it has been getting beat ever since it was built. i have been beating it for a couple months and the hull doesnt have one single crack. there isnt much left of the carbon hood, thanks to josh and his switch blade flips (feet in the holds, hands come off the bars and he lands face first and the ski up side down) all from 10' up. i think infusion gives the correct rtatio of resin to fabric and if there isnt much fabric, it wont be very thick. trays on flat water freestyle skis dont need to be thick since you arent standing anywhere but in the footholds. the tray on my XFT fly hull was paper thin too and cracked from me riding on my knees when tired. if you have no padding and turf on a hull and jump in the holds, you can hear cracking/flexing. if you dont like that and want to beef it up, thats your call, but dont automatically think your feet are going thru where you stand. if i was taking orders and building hulls, i'd ask the buyer where he had his feet and beef those areas up just to be safe. since i roll to the right and land short on the left side, i only reinforce the left side. no use putting poop where it isnt needed , like everybody does here. : )=

if anybody copies these things, hopefully they will fix the design flaws at the same time. the hood pin system sucks ass. adjustable ride plate was a bad idea and the chines on the bottom are too deep. the phantom demo bottom had excellent directional stability at WFO, when the chan didnt. perfect for all the guys throwing garbage gutless 701 junk in one.
