hey waternut are you using the shoria charger? if so you need to ditch it and charge your shoria with a battery tender to bring it back up before the shoria will charge it. A couple guys have had this "problem' and its a simplle fix.

I'll give it a shot if I can find one but I have a feeling that it's hosed because it measures 18-19v when I try to charge it and drops back down to 6v (now) when I take the charger off.

hmm yeah jr freestyle just had this problem and the shoria charger is too picky and i swear it is meant to void out their warranty claims. he used a simple 2a trickle charge and it came back and has been working, i think it is still working. scotty 2t ran his right flat, not even a relay click and it came back without using the shoria charger. let us know what happens. mine is still cranking hard and i can't kill it in a day of riding. i have not flooded my ski and i have seen the big batterys die trying to get a flooded ski running. The best bet with these batteries is to not swamp the ski or leave a bilge running during the beer break.

I have been using the shorai for a few weeks and have been having trouble keeping it charged. When the ski dies or doesn't hit on initial couple cranks batt plays out. Any tips I've been 2amp charging no more than 15 min. Afraid to ride alone cuz of it now.

2 amp charge it until you hit float mode then disconnect it. only charge if for 15min before you go out for a ride but after you have given it the full charge. usually takes a few hours after a ride day to get it back up to the 14.? volt

I have been using my 12Cell Ballistic for three weeks now, and it has been great, i did not charge it when it showed up and still have not charged it and it's working perfect. If anyone wants one we have some in stock, they are 149.99 plus shipping,

here is a pic of my rushed install, later i will make a tray for it

Had my shorai in my ski for almost two weeks and it's been like any other battery as far as cranking great and no problems then today i went to start ski and it was completely dead. I checked to make sure my bilge wasn't left on and it wasn't. Fortunately it took a charge fine and seems to be good again. Not sure what happened since i've never noticed any load being on system when off (no arcs or anything when connecting battery).

Alright so I have read every page in this thread (took a while)....I am still wondering what is best for my application.

I will be running this in an 06 sx-r with msd total loss, and a bilge that will not be on all the time because I will be using dual scuppers. It seems like both batteries work ok with a basic charger, but i would like to just be able to plug my ski in at the end of the day and forget about it...what do you guy think is the best option

i use the battery tender charger on the shorai too, an hour+ to charge after a ride with TL but I haven't had any out of the blue dead battery mishaps. I've ran it dead from abuse and it has always come back to life like new. I've been running my shorai for 3 months now.

yes, it takes longer that 15 min to fully charge it. just before i go out for a ride, when i am loading up, i give it a quick 15 min. charge so its ready to rip. tonight it took about 2 hours for my charger light to go green. before my next ride i will give it a quick charge and go.

It depends, how depleted is the battery? If I asked how much gas should I put in my tank you can't always say "5 gallons" can you? If you don't know how empty it is then you wont know how much to put in. Batteries are no different.
