Better than yours 550 freestyle build.

I was referring to your regestration, that last post did seem like I was talking about the pole. Your ski is too well put together now and is no longer a sleeper/ghetto ride haha.

Oh, yea. Your right. In fact, when sanding It took perhaps a full 40 minutes to get the spray paint off that damn hood. It was a sign. That stuff WANTED to stay on the ski badd. Especially since I took off ALL of the stock red paint from the hood with just a razor blade in under 20. It came off just that easy.

and now that I re-read your post, I realize your right, its not the same without the ghetto "3 stage" spray paint job. Now I might have to worry about it getting stolen because it doesnt look like a junker. Damnit.

Ive never like yellow after 25 minutes. Before you own it, it looks great. 25 minutes after owning... it wears out. on me at least.

Also, a little easter egg. Ive got this killer Ruby Red metallic flake powdercoat that matches my car almost perfectly. By itself its a little to metalicy and corny, but blended with something makes an amazing Pearl. So I mixed in a tablespoon of it with the paint. Just enough so I am pretty sure, that though now it looks just like a full bodied red, when I get it in the Sun it will REALLY pop and look great!

Gotta say though, with that red and carbon its gonna really look sweet with my tow vehicle. :nana:

Ha. That sucks. It rained, but I painted anyway. Just closed up the shed and turned on heaters.

I also just barely made it with the resin you gave me, ran out on the last strip. And I mean ran out/bone dry.

Might need to bring you my hood for a little patch, I have a 4" crack in it, if you could just slap on a quick piece of 1208 on...

You better chain it down, i may be coming to florida :nana:. Every since Ive followed your build I cant seem to leave my js alone. Its actually the wifeys ski (my fx1 backup), shes always telling me to leave it alone. It maybe next winter but im gonna go the kawi 650 pump route. Nothing like a js, a true poor mans lightweight hull. Heck you can get them given to you most of the time or dig them out of dumpsters.

I still think you should counter sink the pole bracket, rework the hood channel and run an x-metal or an xft style pole. :) I know you probably wouldn't need to purchase either of those actual poles. you have the ability to make what the hell ever you want...lol

I used to like the Xmetal monocoque style pole, but since the FS1 came out I really like the RRP style, hence why I made mine like that, and not the other way as originally planned, (and yes, your right, I did figure out a relatively cheap and easy way to home manufacture an Xmetal style pole)

As for the pole bracket, I did have it counter sunk and offset just enough so it matched the contour of hte nose and still exposed the bolt as I dont want to remove the pole bracket to remove the pole like the 750sx style. But in when it comes to it I like running the pole bracket backwards to get an extra 3" forward. Though I made the mounting pattern reversable so I can flip it whenever I want.

If you had thrown me a link, it would have been easier to figure out which thread, because you’re everywhere lately! You’re just like DJ too…same color as before! :tapedshut:

It’s a good contrasting color and will show up well in pics, so yes, I like it of course! I think the fox swiping eggs will make it appropriate for you too, HA! You should listen to Eddie (LBE) in your turf thread…man knows his stuff! Looking forward to the rest of the pics, but especially seeing it in the surf again!

And your hours are worse than mine! I thought you were in school????

Go to bed! :spankme:

Just finished taking my GRE exam for grad school.... That was entirely too long.... sarcasm.

Guess its just down to cleaning the dust out of the engine bay and making a chin pad now. Cant wait to get it on the water to see how the thing rides with new position.

looks sharp

i like it much better than the spray painted reggie numbers.

you should try and get some regi numbers that look like carbon now to match the rest.

EDIT: damn that was a killer drip on the front huh. you weren't kidding.

looks good, fox. now countersink that damned pole bracket...lol

I cannot. It will upset the balance of the world. If I counter sunk the bracket anymore, the sexy level would be off the charts and people would be forced to stop tormenting that I "shoulda just bought an FX1"

And who am I to spoil their fun?

On a side note, my ski is cursed. It ran amazing 4 days ago when i started this, now it does not run at all. Something in the Ebox has shorted out. It has not been opened, nor started... WTF. To cold to work more tonight though.

Yes... all yama elect. The starter made funny slow grind noise for a second, and then when I unhook the ground off cable off the battery it sparked... so I'm thinking maybe the Brand new Starter relay might have gotten stuck in a closed circuit somehow...

add an extra ground from the case or head to the battery and 1 from the ebox to the case or battery. willing to bet you have a ground problem
