CW's does a good job and everyone gets behind, this is as bad as it has ever been though.

Normally DASA keeps a pretty good stock of cranks, obviously. We can't sell motors without cranks. It makes everyone look bad. We have burnt up most of our in-stock cranks at this point.

Cranks aren't as easy to build as everyone thinks. Phil is an expert at what he does and I'll leave him to his craft.

I'll stick with what I am good at, I have little interest in the learning curve needed to build cranks.

Brian

Hate to say it, but this is ALL my fault. If I wasnt also waiting for a crank for my motor, there wouldn't be a supply issue. I have the WORST luck sometimes. Just received a email frinight night..... 3 MORE WEEKS! :grumble:

...and unfortunately one that comes with great risk as well.

This market is not quite as big as you think, and second, the economy is not kind on big investment ideas right now and even less kind on big risks with operating capital.

I have almost 35K in bringing the SJ case to market, 2+ years later, I still have not recouped 25% of that investment. That is alot of jing to risk sir.

CW builds a quality (custom) part with very limited quality problems, it would be very hard to surpass.

While we are not happy with the current situation, DASA or SB Products has little desire to build crankshafts.

I don't know what Phil's deal is, as Kyle and Dan have been dealing with him, so I don't know the story, but he is putting a hurt on for sure.

I wish I had a better answer.

I've posted about it before, I would rather this be my last post on the matter and I hope he ships cranks soon.

Brian

For crank services.

The PWC community is in dire need of another crank specialty shop. CW is begging for competition.

This is a STRONG business opportunity.

Its a bad deal all the way around ! Think Kyle mentioned last time we spoke, their were 14 motors needing cranks to be completed. Thats some MAJOR revenue that cant be collected. And to make it worse....its in someone elses hands. In my line of work, this happends all the time and it sucks!
Im not to ass bent over the deal. If my biggest problem is getting my new billet powervalve motor into my Jetski...... Well then life is pretty good.
And I KNOW you guys up there are doing everything you can for us all.

I know I've played around and poked at Brian on this issue.... I HOPE you know im only kidding with you. I know this is completely out of your control .

Thanks,

...and it makes us look bad as well. Noone wants to hear, two weeks, two weeks, it bears down on us all.

We doubled out normal order, over time, we have now tripled our order, when it does finally come in, we will have cranks in stock, and stock on order, like we normally do.

I was aware it was only a flesh wound. haha. I have broad shoulders.

Has this setup been run with a wet pipe ? Same cutting and welding as with the yamaha version ? If it works with a wetpipe I will be interested in trying one .

I have asked Kyle in the past and the short answer was "No", I think because of the clearance issue. Dry pipe would be much better anyway.

If you would like a detailed explaination, please call Kyle and talk to him about it. He has much more experience than I in all the different configurations.

OOOOO BOY I saw it today I wanted to take mine home but there was a misunderstanding. Dan and DASA are a very strong business and are great to work with i cant wait till tomorrow I am going to be busy all weekend trying to fit that monster and the monster sized dry pipe into my mega reinforced sxi pro hull. Im happy I stopped by before completion I would have been broke if I had to run C12 gas all the time. Does anybody know what the compression would be if you were forced to run C12. MY set up is for 91 to 93 whats the spark plug everybody is using dan said stock is good.

Lets see some pics of that hull! ....stoked to hear how it runs. br8es are the plugs...correct?

Good luck fittin that Dry into an SXIPRO hull...they are hard to fit into an SXR! You gonna put some tubbies on the front of the hull to make it more stable?

Forced to run C12?

I would run race gas after 200 psi. I think pump gas would be Ok up around 190-195.

Nice! San Diego to Cleveland! Might have to re-tune slightly due to warm water, altitude and temp.
