LOL...you're building a gen 3 and two gen 2 BOBs and your asking for advice? At that stage I would think people would be asking you for tips. Looks good so far homeslice keep it up!

I thought you were building that ski in your house...at least there is no carpet on the floor. Haha!

If your gf's sister breaks up with her bf let me know. I'll pay for shipping!

Off build topic kinda. Glad you bought up the hood seal issue. I went and checked my Trinity EVO and my WDK ROK and no issues here. Never had a water issue, but never would've checked until you brought this issue up. Appreciate you bringing it up and good to check.

My suggestion would be, take your time. Don't go rigging crap up just to get by. I'm sure you still have a few weeks til your gonna ride since its probably still cold. I just finished my gen2 this week. So if you have any questions you can pm me.

I am by no means an experienced builder ... Myself and 2 of my friends all decided to order our hulls at the same time... Up to 2 years ago I had raced motocross for 25 years and I had to quit because of a major injury ... I built and maintained all of my race bikes in that time and ive also built 2-3 harleys ... Out of the 3 of us I probably have the best working knowledge of these kinds of things ...plus everyone says I have a major case of OCD so my stuff is usually nice.. We could have dropped everything we had off at one of the great builders this sport has but I feel if you build it yourself then you know your machine ... I know it's a trial by fire kind of deal but for the most part I enjoy it ... Plus if I can help my friends out and they don't have to pay someone to do it then I'm cool with that .. That's what friends do... I just hope that when we get these all together we've learned a lot and can look at our skis and say .. I did that ..

The skis are deffintly being built in my house ... The door to the left in that pic is my living room ...

I don't rigg anything ... It usually just causes more problem ... Yeah it was snowing on my way into work today so I don't think I've got to rush... Lol...

Yeah ... I didn't like the way the hood shut with the hood latch so I figured the best way to check it was with a light inside in the dark ... It's pretty easy to see what seals and what doesn't that way ...

You can't adjust your hood hooks so the front stays down tight when you do up the latch? I just installed the hood on my Footrocket and it is definitely not going to be letting any water in.

The bobs only have one plate in the middle of the front of the hood ons it's not adjustable ..

Ahhh, ok I didn't know that. That seems pretty silly that it's not adjustable, especially since it won't even hold your hood closed snug.

I don't think this is a wide spread issue with bob hull ... I have a very light lay up and that prob has something to do with it ... DK at the ski clinic was great when I found the issue... He shipped my hood back to Cali to see what was going on at his cost ... Put it on a few different hulls with a few different ways to attach the hood and even sent me video of each way to show me what was going on... He gave me a couple of options and I chose the ratchet strap wich he sent me with my hood ... As of now I don't have any light that shines through my seal ... Untill I get it on the water that's all I can go buy... The 2 gen 2s we have sitting here weren't sealing in the back buy the latch and not nearly as bad as mine was.. Every one of these hulls are hand laid and by definition going to be each different... I would recommend anyone with any brand hull do the light test to just be safe....

nice, my gen 2 is a light layup/comp layup. i reinforced the sides and the bottom though. i just got mine weighed RTR today @ 245lbs

Very nice ... That thing should be a blast to ride .... I'm curious as to what my rtr weight will end up as ... My superjet had every heavy part on it and the foam is so wet the thing weighed in a even ton I think ... Lol .. This should be a big difference

yeah, coming from my waterlogged RN to this was a world of difference. it won't disappoint. when you first get on it, your thinking SJ riding style, and the nose is gonna go straight up. lol BUT, the bob is manageable to put the nose down. you'll figure it out in a few minutes. mine has the flush ride plate. i also have the SOLAS mag which is 5lbs over stock from what i've heard. with all your goodies, i'd expect 225-235.

I'd be happy with that ... I got both ride plates so I could try them both out... I've riden a gen 2 and a rickter for a short time so I have a small amount of experience on these short hulls ... I'm excited to get some quality time on it and see what I can accomplish with it
