LOL, Maybe. We were actually thinking about making it up to Wavedaze this year. I've had to work that weekend the last 2 years running.

Spent some time on a lake today putting the Matrix thru a barage of test riders from all kinds of backgrounds. Everyone that rode it couldn't get over the way it handled and how great the power was. There's a couple more SXR riders looking to make some upgrades after today, lol.

My trim cable is broken otherwise I was going to try and see how far i could get it over. I did like the way it handled on Flat water though. The hull feels much more stable than a superjet does and at first you think that it won't let go but once you get the hang of it it slides out nice and easy and is quite flickable. I was told I wouldn't be able to get the nose under but I had no problem doing turn subs one after another. After a few week attempts I was even able to get it to do a half azzed sub but that trick definately takes alot more effort and finesse to pull off. It's not impossible though and definately easier on the matrix than a waterlogged SN SJ.

I'm still getiing used to the Matrix and each time I ride it I like it more and more. Untraining my love for the SJ is definatley going to take some time.

I also played around with the EPIC Ignition for the first time today. These TS SS865 engines run so great already it's hard to imagine getting more power out of them but the EPIC does so very nicely. The improved acceleration is very noticeable and the bottom end snap is awesome. I loaded up a couple different curves and spent some time putting each thru it's paces and finally settled on an aggressive curve that was sent by Chucky himself.

You wanna see some funny looks? Break out a laptop at the beach, wanna see some really confused looks, hook that laptop up to your water jet ski thingy and mash some buttons, lol. "I didn't think they still made those thing..." lol

Well, it took a couple rides but it finally happened today. Previously the Matrix felt a bit foreign and the Superjet still felt more natural but today it finally set in, the Matrix is the only ski for me now. It has already become predictable and my balance has finally adapted to where I know where the ski is going to be at every moment. With every tank thru this ski I fall deeper and deeper in lust. The engine is flawless, the pump is incredible, the EPIC is incredible and the entire package is 100% my dream ski.

My trim cable broke within a couple rides but I got it fixed up last week and was having fun with it today until my Wife reminded me I wasn't wearing a helmet and that I was to stop, lol. I did manage to try my first flatwater backy attempts before she shut me down and managed to get the ski upside down a few times. a little more commitment on my part and the right setup wake and I think a flatwater backy is more than feasable. I just need to find my balls and remember to bring my helmet next time. :bigok:

I used PJ1 satin black case paint that i got from xscream but it didn't stick worth a crap. It looked just as good as their cases but I must not have prepped good enough. Someday I will redo it and try an epoxy paint and a little better prep and primer.

I believe the real answer is in the prep and not the paint. I sandblasted it clean, washed it in thinner and then just dusted it with satin black. I was thinking the PJ1 product was self priming but will use a proper aluminum primer as well next time for sure.
