After 2 months of pestering SCDNR I finally received my title and registration so I am finally legal and can purchase insurance. I have the new HIN Tags running in the Lamacoid maker right now and will epoxy them on this weekend.

I'm sure not looking forward to putting any decals on my ski though... :(

So much for my clean murdered out ski, I got my HIN Tags and SC Registration decals installed...It could be worse i guess. :(

I also finished glassing up my new footholds and chucked some turf on them so I can try them out before I finish them right.

Looks good.
X2.. You'd kill yourself if you walked out to the garage and saw MY SKI.. Looks killer bro, really hope to get a ride on one of these soon.
What kind of footholds are these? Does Trinity have their own that came with the hull, and you changed them?

The ski came with footholds but I just couldn't get used to them. They were not meant for 26mm underpad and were too tight to get my foot into plus I didn't like having my knees turned out like they were, it felt awkward and prone to injury. With guidance by ScottS I custom shaped them to my foot trying all sorts of riding positions and stances. It took me almost 8 hours with various grinding and sanding tools to slowly massage them into something I was happy with.

The new design takes more advantage of the extra wide tray of the Matrix and lets me set my heels wider without interfering with my ankles thru various ranges of motion. I'm not sure if they will hold my feet well enough but at least now i have enough room to add underpad to the underside of the hold and shape them until they will.

I only wish I could ride my ski as much as I get to drool on it...snapped some pics last weekend so a buddy can start photoshopping different ideas for his paint scheme.

I still can't get over the lines of this ski and can't wait for the day when i can post pics of it upside down.

My goal was to ride every weekend this summer but work has killed that dream. Once I get my greencard we will start looking around to relocate closer to water and work so we can get out more than a weekend or two a month.

Thanks Chris, if you think the ski looks good you should ride one and see they handle even better.

I was worried Bobby would be offended that I chopped up the footholds but I got the nod of approval last night.

I'm hoping to get a ride together somewhere south for next weekend and get it back on the water with all the guys who haven't had a chance to ride it yet. Surf was flat so I took two weekends to redo my footholds and now I am on call for the entire 4th of July long weekend.

Anyone thinking about pulling their turf needs to invest in a multitool like the Fein multimaster or sears unit. ScottS let me use his Fein unit and I stripped all my turf and underpad in less than 5 minutes. It does such a clean job i was even able to remove the tray turf and pad in one piece and then glue it back in after my footholds were finished. If you dont want to drop big bucks on one of these tools you can also pick up a cheaper version from harbour freight for under $40 like I did.

Glad to hear its not crap anyways. A guy can always return it after every job and get a new one too. Gotta love cheap tools and good return policies, lol

Those footholds will be a lot better than before!!! Great improvement!!!!!

Reg numbers belong on the inside of the hood so the pole hides them. I couldn't stickem on the side, just kills that clean look. IMO

Rode flatwater today for the first time with the new footholds and I am loving them!!!!! Completely different ski now with the wider stance and man is thing responsize in the turns when you can get your weight shifted fast enough! It's amazing what ergonomics can do for your riding style, lol. Usually I don't stand in the holds much but instead ride left foot forward but today i spent all day in the holds and it felt so natural. I know it will be perfect in surf as well and hope to try it out tomorrow.

They are a tad loose still because I opened up the holds to allow for 9mm underpad on the top of the holds but didn't have any to throw in there. I also didn't wanna get too fancy with returfing until i rode it and knew if i was finished modding them but now I am finished for sure.
I have some inserts I can glue in to take up the extra room until i get the initiative to returf but other than that I have never ridden with footholds that felt this natural and do not impede with your foot in any negative way at all. A layer of underpad and they will be absolutely perfect.

Custom molded footholds are the only way to go. Pour a block of foam, shape them to your foot and glass over em.

I LOVE THIS SKI!!!!!!!!!!!!
