Rode it on friday with the mag pump again and it felt pretty good considering I haven't ridden in a couple months. I got the right bearing installed now and the impeller spaced tight to the stator vanes so it felt much tighter this time.

Some will say it still has too much traction but I have figured out how to shift my weight to make it slide at will so I figure its the best of both worlds now. It just takes some muscle where Scotts slides out effortless. I find myself overpowering Scotts now and can't keep it hooked up.

Hopefully I can get some more ride time in on it in the next feew weeks amd clear out some cobwebs.

Had a couple days off and got bored so I finally got around to a small mod that will hopefully improve the sliding ability of my hull. When Bobby chopped 2" off my hull, he left the transom edges squared off. When ScottS got his -2" Matrix, the corners were radiused like all other skis. Scott's has always slid and turned easier than mine so this was just one of the little things that were noted as different. It may scrub some speed but hopefully it adds a little bit more playfullness to the ski.

No sooner do I say the words and then I go and get the bug to build another ski.

Stripped down my hull tonight so I can deliver it to the new owner. I'm going to miss Darkne' but the new ride is gonna be sweeter and a little more visible on the water.

Finally got some weights too while I had it stripped. Bare hull is 108lbs and the hull and hood come in at 124lbs.

You are the ONE SINGLE guy on this entire forum that I was convinced was going to own only one aftermarket hull ever and be buried with it.

Thanks for proving me wrong, thanks a lot. Welp, may as well get out of the sport now.

Sorry Matt, It was actually my wife's idea. I showed her the sale thread on Joe's pro and she convinced me to go for it. Too good of a deal to pass up and she knew I always wanted the pro version. One of my buddies wanted my old hull so everything came together in just a few hours like it was meant to be.

Besides, it's not like it's a different hull. It's identical on the outside, just better materials on the inside and a tad lighter.

He didn't jump ship to another whole manufacturer So I wouldn't consider yourself totally wrong. I'm happy enough with my ride to possibly be that guy for you even though it's totally against my personality to buy one brand of anything and be happy and content for long term.

Congrats on the new hull! When will it burn fuel and be tested in FL?

I'm going to be pretty busy with work the next couple weeks so I probably won't get a chance to get the hull much less build it for at least 3 weeks.

I will also have to go through all my old parts and hardware as well since I found a ton of corrosion that will have to be removed before reassembly. Steering and trim cables are both toast as well.

that new red and black is gonna be sick, and matches the new tow rig. Let me know if your gonna swing that extra 6 hours over to my place, keep in mind the return drive is only 13 hours from my place to Charleston. :deal:

Did you ever ride it after chamfering the back of the hull to loosen it up?

I rode it a few times after but honestly didn't really feel any difference. Then again, I really don't ride often enough to notice subtle little differences like that anyways.

I do know that it feels better with every ride so it all comes down to ride time. Practice, practice, practice.

Can't wait to try the new Pro hull.:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

I delivered the hull to it's new owner tonight after work. Andy was so excited he didn't even wait for me to get the camera ready, lol.

I left him hanging for close to minute and the grin never wavered once.

I'm going to miss this hull but it couldn't have worked out any better. She's staying in our riding group and going to a guy that will rip it every weekend. Really looking forward to a Tigger striped pole pad to really top it off, lol.
