144mm Mag pump showed up last night but suffered a major setback, I spun the prop on to do a quick mock up for shimming and only got 5 threads down before i caught a thread and before I knew it I had galled the threads. I tried all the basics to get the impeller back off but after trashing 2 impeller tools I talked to Dave and we agreed it should be shipped back to him for proper removal and repair of any damage...Not a good start for a brand new pump and shaft but I am so thankful for Daves understanding and reassurance that it all will be made okay.
I feel like such a retard at the moment but let it be a lesson that things can go bad real quick. A dab of antiseize would have likely gone a long way on this. Now after waiting 6 weeks to get my pump, I have to wait another 3 weeks for the pump to get back to Impros for repair. :banghead:

Pole looks awesome. Can't wait to see the pipe. That sucks so bad about the pump! I feel your pump pain. I'm still looking for one myself, but my prospects just brightened a bit today.

It cost me $175 plus S&H and it was back in my hands in 7 days.
Ceramic Coating was done by Airborne Coatings in Denver North Carolina.

**Note to self - Fix all blemishes and damage before sending parts to be coated. They do nothing to your pipe before applying the coating. I had a small dent where a stray Tubbie Screw had left it's mark and I now have a ceramic coated exhaust leak as the process opened it up fully. Luckily it is on the underside of the pipe where it won't show and a co worker is going to TIG it up for me this weekend.

If you were not going with the mag pump and you were doing the TBM Cone... do you know what the recommended impeller/pitch is for your motor (for mostly surf riding)?

I would be dropping this thing in my 07 tonight if i didn't have to send the Mag pump back plus my 07 is so dialed in I don't really want to pull it apart for anything.
