Got my Mag Pump back and fully assembled, I have to give it one more coat of paint to touch up a few spots but it still looks good. You can see the difference between the old impeller and the new setback one by the wear on the wear ring, they say it's a 1" setback but it looks like more than an inch to me.

Looking at the before and after on the pump and trim kit sure makes the hour or so standing at the sand blaster cabinet and a rattle can of paint sure seem worth it. LOL

maybe i'm missing something....

that doesn't look like a mag pump (from the outside view).

older generation perhaps?

I sent them a stock Superjet 144mm stator housing and they made it the way they always have. The new Billet housing is only a must when you go over 145mm and the liner gets too thin. You can still get the new Billet housing in a 144 but it's another $175 just for the housing and then you have to send it in to have the wear ring replaced.

From what I have heard, the billet housing was designed for 146-148 pumps so they don't have to sleeve down a 155mm pump and add all the extra weight.

How do you like that Sato trim, have you used it on a previous ski? Just wondering.. Picked up a square to part out, has a complete sato trim. Doesn't seem to have any steering or trim throw though, very minimal. I'm sure I can get more though with some tweaking. Is yours in original form, or modded? And yes the sandblasting and paint made that look sweet!!

I had it on my 07 for most of last summer but never really tried it out. I never measured throw but I did snap a couple pics when I originally installed it. It should be around 25°. It was originally 20° but I ground out material to get a little more out of it.

I am pretty glad I decided to make the jump up to the Mag pump during the build instead of later down the road. Thankfully Josh, Chris and Lucas were good at convincing me to just make the jump now and after riding Chris's Superfreak this weekend I am pretty sure I made the right decision.

I spoke to Bobby last night and he's making headway. He's putting the finishing touches on a couple other skis before they go out for delivery and he should be able to focus on mine exclusively by mid week. He's got a little more to go on the plumbing of the bottom deck, motor mounts and other attachment points and will post more pics at that point. Hood and top deck layup should start within a day or two.

I was reading up on some of the stunt hull builds last night and the more I read, the more pleased I am with Bobby. He hand fits every piece into the hull so it's absolutely perfect when it comes time to assemble. It will be well worth the wait when I assemble this ski complete in the same time it's taken some of the stunt guys to fit a pump shoe alone.

In the meantime I spent some time out in the garage visiting all my parts this weekend. I preplumbed my carb and pulse lines with black fuel and primer lines, Finished up the pump assembly, and pre-plumbed the water lines. I should be getting a box of goodies from JSS this week with all new Power cables and a fresh start/stop unit so I can button up the electrical system for years of trouble free service.

My only regret about ordering the Matrix is that I didn't order 2 at the same time. Wifey will have to wait till next year for hers. :bigok:

Pump looks real nice boyer, but what's going on with the long pump bolts?

Are those from a couch? They are too long and have nuts on them?

By the way, my ski had fouled plugs when you rode it, got back that night and it was really off until new plugs and BRAAP!
