brandy new sj

I put straps in my first SJ for same reason - you'll get the idea decide pretty quickly if you start riding the bigger waves a lot - second one had holds in when I got it. I did not put them in my SXR but I sold it once I started riding the bigger waves.

how much of a difference does an over the pivot system make? does it change the turning radius or no? I like the slow to medium speed carves and could see how a quick steer would be nice?

Quick steer is a must have mod, can't stand to ride stock turning.
what do you use? I am used to riding mtn bikes and motos, this only makes sense to have steering closer to the pivot. I never ran a stem longer than 30mm on my mtn bikes why would I want that on my superjet

I have a A/M nozzle with the pivot point moved in, you can accomplish the same thing with a drill on a stock turn nozzle though. I also have OVP KV steering dialed all the way out for the quickest turn possible.

Once you start doing more than going in a straight line or mild turns you will see the appeal. It makes a huge difference for setup wakes and just overall makes the ski much more nimble.

You can drill and move your stock steering point in about 5mins for free, and can get UMI quicksteer for like 75 bucks. Very cheap mod and well worth it.

what do you mean ovp but dialed all the way out

You can adjust the throw on your steering. Depending on where it is locked down in that long notch.

I don't have a good pick of my pole/steering for some reason..but I doubt it would work with a stock chinpad without some major fab work, I bought the complete kit so it all works together. Even the slim UMI steering needs some grinding done if you use the outer most adjustment point.

Krash/Kavinci or RRP seem to be most popular. You are looking at 1k-2k depending on setup and model though. Or $75 bucks for UMI. I would recommend the UMI and spend money on other needed upgrades instead of all into a pole/steering.

I honestly didn't notice a difference going from UMI to OVP, mechanically they are pretty much the same i think. OVP just setup to work with AM poles and are a little more sturdy. And look cooler.
