turfing sucks, thats all I have to say for now. I could get a ride in tonight around 8 before it gets dark but its not worth it. Ill head out early in the morning, no video promises guys sorry. I usually ride alone.

Good luck, man! Let me know how the handlepole set up works out for you.And don't get too far from shore.Sorry,l sound like a dad!

Pinstripes done right will stay on.Make sure you wipe it down with 91% alcohol before and give it 24 hours to set up before hitting the lake.

I have MAJOR cavitation issues. I could get up on plane but it was still pretty bad. When I was putting the pump all together There was a gap in between the seal and the pump shoe, not big like 1mm maybe. I had someone pushing on the pump too while I bolted it on so its as forward as It can go, dont know what to do here. Only one pisser is pissing. The ski almost sank, Its taking on MAJOR water from somewhere, It could possibly be the trim tube I didnt seal up because I was just going for a quick 20 minute ride to see how things are. but I would have bet it was half full of water, it would have sank from the beach to the trailer (20 feet) if i didnt start it up and power it over there. I might have a tiny exhaust leak (little white smoke coming from somewhere) so that could be part of my water problem. So pretty much everything bad that could happen, happened.

Now here is the good part, im happy with the my whole steering setup, it feels nice and not too hunched over.

You'd be amazed how much water you can take on from two scuppers and an open trim tube. My 800gph pump spits out water for 2-3 seconds every 15-20 seconds and my trim tube is sealed. Either way, my trim tube is open right now because I broke my cable and it's fine....but I have a bilge pump too.

Was there a 1mm gap all the way around the pump seal? If so, I'm guessing there was something in the midshaft (like too much grease) that is preventing it from going that extra bit. If only pisser is pissing, you better check your cooling fittings. You might have forgotten to tighten one hose clamp down and it blew off.

I can try getting the pump further in. I cant see if its sealed at the top or not only can see the bottom and some of the sides. I guess I can take it to the ramp and let it idle while its on the trailer and see where all this water is coming from.

Ok my water intrusion is solved. My versiplugs let very little next to no water coming in. Its the trim tube, that sucker lets a TON of water in, once thats closed up I think Ill be fine. Now Im not sure about my pissers. Maybe I have my lines mixed up. The bypass that isnt working goes from the top of the head pipe t's to the pisser and to the bpipe stinger. The only thing I can think of is that when installing my 90* fittings maybe I put too much sealant on and it closed up one of the lines. Got to dissasemble my pump again today, its a pain with the midshaft on.

The gap between the pump seal and the pump shoe doesn't make sense. Something is wrong with the way it is installed. There should be no gap whatsoever. I was waaaay anal about that lining up right when I built it. I'm surprised you got the bolts to thread in at all with a gap there.

I dont know. I will see later what the hubub is about, When I installed the whole pump assembly I had the midshaft out so the midshaft shouldnt have been a problem. Once everything is apart do you think I should around the intake grate pump shoe? or will that do anything? To make things worse I lost a bolt on my steering nozzle. Lucky its a M8 and Ive got tons of those but I dont have the bolt spacer (little metal tube) I can probably make one though.

anyways, heres a picture of it all together, dont think you guys have seen it yet. As you can see its still pouring out water after driving home from the ramp, and sitting for about 15 minutes. The guy that distributes the kits for our cobras said I could display it at his booth at the Charlotte Auto Fair (one of the largest shows in the US) If it still looks good then I might do it hopefully someone would bring their gulf cobra\gt40

thanks man! I also have to make another limiting rope. I took it off for the "ride" because one of the ends came undone and left it at the beach, came back two hours later and its not there:no:

I'm betting it wasn't theft and more of someone thinking it was trash. If it was in good shape and laying near the water by itself, I might've picked it up too.

Im taking another ride tomorrow, I 99% sure I got the pump situated, theres no gap now, no play or anything. Got the clogged water line fixed, and going to seal up the trim tube later. Did everyone end up cutting the ride plate flush?

That was one of the first things I did after the initial test ride...

Nice ///M Coupe, are you a member of the BMW Club? I think I remember you saying that you go to VIR? My Father races with the BMW club around here. He races at VIR, CMP, Road Atlanta, Mid Ohio, Summit Point to name a few.
BTW: The Ski is looking nice. I really like the paint job.

thanks. Yes we do some events with the bmw club. We have only been to VIR and CMP though. Going to an event at NCcar in september. We mainly run with the SVT cobra club though. Once I get my license I hope to be more active with the bmw groups as the coupe is mine.

I tried to go out today, it started up first time like always, but as I was idling over to the beach it kind of died (like to low of idle died) Kept trying to start it until my battery died, it started up about every 5th try for a couple seconds. Charging the battery now, seems like a fuel problem.
