My ski dies on me occasionally after first starting out. It usually has to do with there being too much air in the fuel lines. I typically just reprime the the carb and be gentle on the throttle for a few seconds. The other possibility is your fuel lines have gaps at the fittings.

took it out, still have cavitation issues. for the first minute I could ride normally (still with cavitation) but then I couldnt get on plane, when the throttle was all the way in it just barely putted along. Im done with this thing for real, its wasted all my summer the last month ive litteraly spent 10-12 hours days in the garage. Im done for now, I havnt seen any friends for like a month.

If anyone wants it, $5500 takes it.

The throttle problem was just the cable coming off the wheel\plate underneath thats all. Not to mention my license\BRAND NEW COPY of my registration fell out of my velcro pocket while riding so I cant ride legally now.

Seriously?!?! 2-3 rides and you're quitting? wtf man...

I'm really curious if what you call cavitation is actually carb tuning though. If you pin the throttle in the water and the ski doesn't go anywhere, I'm betting some kind of tuning issue. If you pin the throttle in the water and the engine revs to the moon and you don't go anywhere, then you've got cavitation.

I know what cavitation feels like and what it sounds like, and thats what it is. I havnt changed or messed with anything in my carb since last season, and everything ran great last season. I just dont know where to start now for cavitation since the seal is situated. The carb problem was just the cable coming off the wheel partially and it slipping off that plate thingy below. thats why I wasnt going anywhere:banghead:

It takes lots of adjustment to get the pump to seal right to the pump shoe - rather than moving your pump shoe around, I've heard of people making custom pump seals that are thicker on the side that there is a gap. Or if the gap is even, just make a all around thicker pump seal

The seal should only slide onto the pump one way so if it felt like it snapped onto the pump then it's correct. Other things that could be causing problems are bolts sticking through the pump shoe where the intake grate mount. Additionally, if the midshaft wasn't sealed with silicone to the bulkhead, air could be getting in there. I'd personally put tape over the scuppers, pull the rideplate off, and fill the hull up with water above the midshaft and look for leaks.

Ill do that once I get my replacement license and registration, they charge $5 for a new registration card and I just got mine that I lost on saturday! It will probably take a week or so for my license to come in.

Patience man! l'm a lot older than you and sometimes poop gets very frustrating still for me.lf you have to,walk away from it for a couple of days.Do something you enjoy like mowing the lawn!!! And then start over.ok?

Our lawn is dead:lmao:It just hurts my head to think about why its not working. I mean I was expecting some minor stuff, but not all this. It just plain sucks, I want to be out riding, but Im tired of working on it. If I would have just stuck with my sxr I had last summer everything would still be fine now! damn superjets:silly:

When the stunt hull came out it was advertised as being based on the SJ bottom deck and I agree that is since I came directly from a wide tray SJ and it felt almost identical at low speeds. However, I've heard rumor from people who have talked to highroller that it was based off an octane bottom deck. Who really knows...

Brock, I can understand your frustration and I can assure you that we've all been through it. Remember how I had to almost completely rebuild my "ready to ride" hull before I was even able to do anything in the way of progress to it? Doing the handlepole and painting was the fun part... Couldn't tell you how many hours I spent just cussing highroller while fixing this thing. Then I got it on the water and it was still all F-ed up. Believe me, my love for jetskiing was dying fast! I pushed through it though and really like my hull...although I'll never recommend anyone buy anything from highroller. You just have to get things working and you'll get the pinned up frustration out and you'll begin to enjoy making it just a little bit better again.

Brock...not that I have any for sure evidence for what ur prob is, but my ski kept feeling like it was cavitating...bad. I tried all sorts of pump changes and no luck. I worked backwards through pump, drive train, engine, and then electrics. Last thing I checked was my stock ebox and found out I had an old cdi some jackleg had tried to do a rev limit mod on. It only fubar'd it. Would run great for like a minute right out of the gate and after that it had no azz at all. Kept feeling like I couldn't get any thrust out of the pump. It turned out to be a faulty cdi. Changed it after all the backtracking and now all is well. The backtracking helped me nail down some things I'd have ignored otherwise too. Good luck. I HATE WRENCHING LIKE NOTHING ELSE. Wait till your married with kids and all your free time is spent dicking with some little prob that keeps your ski out of the water for weeks. You'll go crazy.

I just dont know where to start if its not the pump, it sounds like the pump. I didnt mess with the carb or ebox or anything from last season, everything ran fine last season. I have a riva cdi (pretty much the same as the msd) with the adjustable revlimiter. All I changed on the engine were the rings. Maybe its not getting enough air? I could unplug my second breather (its still kind of tucked in the pole, not too exposed) it could be not getting air,and might save me from cutting holes in my hood.
