CANADA FREERIDE EVENT!

If we have one ride out east and one out west it balances it out... Just need the one out east : ). I agree with Sneds, lets do this July 25/26 as an unofficial Canadian free-ride. Everyone bring legal skis and we can just say its coincidence. If we behave and it goes good, maybe next year we push to make it official.

We should just commit to something somewhere and whoever can make it will make it.

So July 25/26 St Lawrence Park, Brockville?

Should we start posting details and get a number count? Do we need to reserve?

Let's get this thing going!

If you read back a few pages I did suggested a few spots, but than ppl started crying from the Kingston area it's too far for them. So we could just all agree for a central location with a camping spot for a weekend.

These are more central

Thats right like i said previously why go to a spot that we dont know if we will be able to ride. Peterborough, wasga, dunville, nanicoke, port burwell, lets get a ride planned

Aren't you doing the same thing?

Brockville is faaar bud! Lets find something a bit closer.

My thoughts are @kawi_mods started this, did most of the leg work, only to get shut down by the town. Originally people from the east coast, and some GTA rides thought it'd be a good time to head out that way.

That said it might be worth making a poll, but the more we delay the less people can plan ahead and make ANY event.

I don't mind driving for about 3hrs one direction but anything longer than that, no thanks. Dunnville is fine for me just make sure a beer store is close by. First four cases are on me since is my birthday that weekend

Out of curiosity, I called both Riverside-Cedar and Ivy Lea campgrounds (both in that area, St Lawrence Parks). Both have availability for June 26th weekend and are located on the St Lawrence River. Ivy Lea is in the 1000 islands. Both have a beach area and a boat launch.

I would be game for that! My family and I go to charleston lake every year. I've always wanted to drop the ski in the river.

I forgot!
Camping is free in Dunnville and is open every long weekend all summer and on some normal weekends when cattledawgs come down out of the city. I haven't been riding in sable beach for a while or ipperwash beach either.

Guys, we need to pull the trigger on this soon or it will not happen this summer.

Here are some of the suggestions from the thread that seem viable from the comments:

- Brockville/1000 islands
- Dunville
- Peterborough
- Ipperwash
- Wasaga Beach
- Lake Simcoe
- Alcona
- Georgian Bay

I don't know most of these places but I'm good to go pretty much anywhere for a good riding spot.

Should we vote?

Any other suggestions with campground and beach access/boat ramp?

We can set a deadline for suggestions and votes.

Thoughts?

I just realized I checked June and not July. I called back and there is availability July 24th and 25th at Ivy Lea and Riverside-Cedar (Brockville). I'm local to Wasaga so I took a few min and called a couple campgrounds. There is availability but the sites are about 10-15kms away from the ride spot.

Can anyone comment about the other places on heatseekers list?

On a side note, does anyone ride in Port Hope or Cobourg area? I think that's about as central as you can get...
