I'm a little disappointed after getting off the phone with the ski clinic and Derrick Jr. I guess they crushed all of their Gen 1 Bob molds... and I'm SOL on a bob ride plate. I was hoping to either purchase one, buy the molds, or have them send me one to make a mold, but the answer was "Sorry, I wish we could help." I know the ski is discontinued and not a lot of people loved the Gen 1, but it's a bummer the company that made the product wont stand by it and support it anymore. :( I figured a little rant on the matter would be more appropriate than a full out "negative feedback thread."

Ohh well. It'll have a nice carbon ride plate by the time the weather breaks and that is all that matters.

I was able to drill some holes in a Walmintons composite plate and get it to work. I had to slot 2 of the holes a little because the mounts were'nt square, but got it to work. Hope that helps

I used a jet dynamics plate and drilled/countersunk my own holes. Not too hard and certainly doesn't have to be perfect to work. I get what you're saying though..

Thanks for the input guys. Im not worrying about making a ride plate work. I had a cut up stock one with extra holes in it that was "fine". And we are making a composite plate. just bummed that the manufacturer couldn't help out.

That's a negative on the decals, i asked about a set for mine about a month ago. I was told it may be possible to fit some some gen 2 decals with the right placement and some trimming. They need to remember there are still 30 some people out there who spent their money on a gen 1 hull..

Joe,

Believe me bud, I really wish I could help, but there is absolutely NOTHING that we can do for you. If I had the Gen1 ride plate mould, I'd crank one out for you real quick cause I've been keeping an eye on your build and want to see it on the water. But the fact of the matter is, it's been over 2 years since anything Gen1 has come out of our shop.
Trust me, we do our best to take care of our customers, but we don't have access to those moulds any more, so now there is nothing we can do in this situation.

If there's any thing else I can help you with, don't be afraid to give us a call.

Thanks Derrick, I wasn't trying to turn my build thread into a ski clinic hate thread. just bummed about the situation and venting a little. It's all good. I have something in the works.

Had some time today.
Put the pump back together along with the trim
Mocked up the pump to see where the shims will need to go. after a little dremel work on the bolt holes and a couple washers I got it nice and tight against the pump shoe and right in the middle of the midshaft hole.
Also put the pole and bracket on. painters tape and patience was the key since i was by myself with a freshly painted ski and pole.

Tomorrow I will button of the electronics and get the motor ready to drop in. (IF I EVER GET MY B PIPE GASKET!!! you know who you are hehe)
also ordered a CF midshaft spacer from JM today that will be in soon. I will run the steering cable, trim cable, put on the rear cooling lines and finish up the pump section tomorrow.

ran the trim and steering cable today. put the pump in and rear cooling lines. was just finishing bolting the pump in and Bam...stripped the last insert on the last bolt i put in...so now that has to be fixed. :/ on a good note i cleaned up the rest of my electrical, buttoned up the e box, and bench fired the motor. all good to go! man did it sound mean!

I cleaned up the e box cover and it looked nice and clean OEM,
but when in doubt support those who support us!

Well i did not get as far as I wanted to on break. I ended up being a little busier than expected and didnt get the engine in.
I did land an internship with Ilmor Eng. that i am stoked about! (part of the reason i didnt get in the garage as much.
I have all the parts and the tight fit of the breather tubes in the pole annoyed me the other day so i said screw that and got everything else done that needed to be finished before the engine goes in. I'll tackle with the pole breathers after my exam this week.

Finished all electrical work, put on the exhaust manifold, (way more time than i thought haha. shortening bolts, moding a wrench since i didn't have an already moded one at my house) ran all the new fuel line I could without the engine in the ski.

Got the fuel tank ready to go in.

including measureing fuel pickups for the CF fill.

I find it kinda hard to believe they can't keep a couple files for decals, those don't take up near the space molds for the hull would.

Nailed my Thermal Fluids exam this morning and figured i would treat myself to an evening in the garage.

The hardest part of the assembly so far was putting in the breather tubes haha.
I set up the controls (as much as i can without riding it)
Ran all of the cables and wires through the pole and routed them through the engine bay.
Set the engine in and was happy to see how good the coupler spacing was solid, and the couplers were square.
I wanted to do more, but I had to call it a night.
I'm trying to get as much done on the ski in between exams as possible.
I can wait to try this thing out!!!
