carbon superfreak vs gen 3 bob carbon

You just gotta spend more time on one. A BOB is a totally different ride, it wasn't modded from anything, so it doesnt ride like anything else. Like I tell everyone, you wont like your BOB at first, but once you start spending more time on it, you'll learn how to ride it, and you'll grow to love it. One of our guys at our shop is pushing 220, and he's been flipping 701 BOBs, because he's had enough water time on them.

Im deff with everyone on the fact you should try and ride as many hulls as possible to figure out what you like and go with that, but it wont do much good if these a/m hulls all had this issue,in my opinion they all do not. Ive tried many diff hulls,I can tell in a VERY short time if a a/m hull is going to ride well or not... Ive rode hulls that I felt were immediately better than a sj, these type hulls, make riding easier and more stable with less rider input, turn quicker, feel more precise in their movements, they are lighter and take less effort to do the same tricks, have a forgiving nature landing aerials, tend to absorb shock through the water.basically they are less energy consuming to ride and make you a better rider as soon as you hit the throttle

Ive also rode hulls that were extremely hard to ride, wear you out in 5 min fighting every movement, struggling to keep the nose down,or rail a turn, pearl in a sec if your weight isnt perfect in the tray.ride so wet ya cant see where your going 90% the time. very unstable and porpus at even moderate speed, beat ya silly landing even the smallest of airs no matter what part of the hull hits first. Tons of other riding issues,to many to list.Getting a hull to do one thing well is not that hard, getting it to do everything well including a backflip is a whole diff story.but imho any hull or setup including length of the pole, rideplate,or intake grate that you have to get use to or learn to deal with is really never going to get better, your just compromising and accepting it....

The only other large issue in choosing is how well made a hull is and rather or not your 6k or more is going to fall apart while you "learn"to ride it.the fit and finish, how many parts fit with no grinding and headaches.how many hours you will work prepping painting and turfing..time is money to most of us.also how much room it has for the size gas tank you want to run for your ride area and purpose. You will find more "fans" of a certain hull are usually closer to the manufacture for a few reasons, either support, buddies or sponsorship among others... good luck in your hunt!!

we gave the op a great opportunity to try some hulls, both of the hulls in question were in belle river plus some others but he never attended unfortunately

that's a perfect example for this....you generally have 2 types of people with this sport...The type that enjoy everything technical about building a ski and researching every little thing, spending 100s if not 1000s of hours in the garage in the pursuit of building the perfect ski or just having the latest and greatest....or in some cases just to escape the prevailing wrath or scorn of.......This results in 10x more time building them than riding them.cause the skis arent around long till the next build opt shows up.

Then you have the type that stick to one ski long term cause they dont wana miss a ride opt, deal with what they have and ride the living piss out of it every chance they get...Even still prolly spend 2x more time wrenching than riding cause they beat the crap out of it every ride.......you know who you are.......lol

Interesting Steve.Six pages of opinion with all the bullchit that goes with it and the op does a no show! Has he even posted anything lately?

Post #109 Blaster l almost agree with you but some of us fit somewhere in the middle.l have built several skis in the last several years and ride the crap out of them.Except for the Stunt Hole, she was not a keeper.

lol...you know what I mean...everyone knows the builder guys that just dig that more than riding......diff strokes for diff folks...Id personally be stoked if I never had to turn another wrench on a ski the rest my life,Id trade all those past wrenching hours for riding hours fo sho......

Just do what Motoman96 does and pay someone else to build your skis lol

What is the best am Hull for the Price, I don't want it to crack in the surf, but still want to be able to flip flat water? I've been looking at the BOB G3's also, but I am afraid they will crack in the surf. Would be nice for lake though. Never heard much about the superfreaks, but looking at Krash. ind hulls. I don't think a new rickter would be in my budget, but maybe a used one. Any help?

Watercraft Factory Vision hull can do it all!
price is $4995 and is built to withstand anything:smoker:

ive rode a freak and it was super light but felt real long (not something i was too fond of) i also got to ride a rickter fr-2 with a completley stock 701 and felt very comfortable on it. i own a bob and love it and the ski clinic are good people. also rode a xfs but idk how much your looking to drop.
