Jeez, we always do this. OP just wanted some help here. To the OP, take advantage of riders offering different setups to ride before you lay down the dough. Most people will let you ride, I offer mine up to anyone. There are some many awesome options out there now unlike the old days of the 440,550,650,SJ,etc. Sounds like Steve has offered up a great invite. Good luck and have fun man
Seriously, talk about a bunch of band wagon preachers. The guy asked a simple question, then immediately everyone told him to try different ski's, which turned to "my hulls better then your hull". Lol Ride some different skis, see what you fell comfortable on.

The usual bandwagon shows up to bash the ski clinic when trying a BOB is brought up. Nowhere in this thread did anyone say the BOB hull was the best. All I was saying is try it out and you might be surprised. Every hull that I've tried is different and fun in its own way and it all comes down to personal preference
I'll be the first to say that the ski clinic stands behind their product, and has a great entry level hull at an affordable price. Obviously they're not for everyone as people have different riding styles. They must be doing something right is DK JR won amateur world finals on one. With that statement, I'll say the bob hull isn't for me, but they offer a nice product for people to get into the sport.
Long story short, refer to page one where people were saying to try different skis. My buddy has a carbon freak, I like how it handles and turns on a dime, I feel more comfortable on my xfs then his freak. It's all personal preference, I've gone thru 5 a/m hulls in the last two years, there's always gonna be things you like and things you don't.
Ride some first, save your bank account the grief, and get what suits your riding style.

Try them all and choose what suits you best! I love my Gen 2 and just rode a new lightweight Gen 3 and was blown away by how nice everything was from fit and finish to the ride quality!
I weigh around 230 and have no problems ridin the Bobs but it does take ride time to adapt.
I have also ridden a superfreak and a Q8 and all out of personal preference I will still continue to buy Bobs.
They are all good skiis- just gotta choose what suits your style.
And Ski Clinics service is second to none which is a big selling point for me as well!

I have never understood the brand bashing to goes on here. It usually comes form guys who are trying to make a new hull and have ZERO business sense, and just want to bash all the other products on the market to make their D feel bigger. Personally I could not give a flying F what you ride. If you ride a Freak or a 650sx, and you love your ski and get out and ride thats all that matters.
Can I filter out the keyword "BOB" from all forum threads that I see from here on out? The wild claims and accusations being made from all parties (sellers, owners, haters, and supporters) is unbelievable. I'm just a bystander here reading and trying to take all information with a grain of salt.
From what I can see in this thread and others... Those who are Pro-BOB try to talk up the hull more than it really is/hide truths and those who are nuetral and trying to question or bunk these claims are seen as BOB haters.
All of this got started because DK said the BOB is not based on any hull. Come on...seriously?! We all know it's not the same thing as a 300sx because it's been heavily modified. You think Tem really cares that his hull was based off of a superjet? He changed, tested, changed some more, and made it better but the concept almost certainly came from a SJ. If you're ashamed of how you hull came into being, then you should've reconsidered your starting platform. The stunt hull was a modified SJ and my custom hull was heavhily modified from a stunt...do you think I give a sh*t?! NOPE!! It was changed, it was made better, and it works the way I want it to.
Be proud of your hull for what it is and people will love it. Flowering it up makes people skeptical and makes them question/want to prove you wrong. It's human nature...

Cleaned up some of the trash. Guys, if you cannot be respectful to others, you are not welcome on this site. Period. Myself, Darin, Matt and Shawn (Penguin - wait, does he still come around here?) are sick and tired of babysitting. We got families, jobs, and like to enjoy coming here as regular members and posting and reading and ........................ But seeing some of this crap really does take the fun out of it. So, My stance, I can just ignore it, deal with it, leave, etc etc......... So, I think I may just take another route. Where I use to let alot of stuff slide, no more, simple infractions that will lead to a Ban or Just plain Ban you............. Makes our lives simpler! Your Choice......... This Brand Bashing is going to stop, Bashing New Products (Post Dumping) is going to stop. Yes, Infractions for Post Dumping will be given out on New Products Post just like in for sale threads.

Well I guess its Belle river in July for me!! Thing is I ve bought and sold alot of toys in my life and i always loose cash on them, i had a sxr 06 couple yrs ago (based on info from a friend that they were more stable) and sold it because of cash problems,, now this yr i wanted another ski but went with my gut ,, because i want to do turn stabs, and barrell rolls and backflips too!! My 08 superjet is 100% bone stock ,,, and i love the way it handles but i also now know that no matter how much i modify it $$$$$$ it wont be a backflip hull!! So why modify it at all?? I have alot of options but i think that most of you guys are right, I should be patient and test a couple different hulls
