I need your help
I have SJ 701 150/150 - 62t / 62t w/ oem cdi, ADA 35cc, Pipe B, Riva filters

I'm at sea level, today I'm using a Mikuni 38`s oem, I'm fine with them...but I would like something better

I soon bought a Mikuni sbn 44`s, I would like to know if I am on the right path to start my tuning
the configuration is this:

Brand = Mikuni
Model = SBN
Size = 44 OEM
Quantity = 2
Main Jet = 132.5
Pilot Jet = 115
Needle/Seat = 1.5

can i start the adjustments like this?, i really appreciate the help
Looks ok, but I would stay with 38s you really can't beat them on a 701

Hello everybody!
Needs advice for my Blaster 1 for bouys

Im sure you could find better acceleration with a flatter impeller. Make sure the top carb adjuster screws are set a little rich of peak rpm so it doesnt burn a piston.

Which impeller for you?
And thanks for the d’ajuster screw!!!

Your target rpm is set by exhaust port height and the tuned length of your pipe. Your impeller can be repitched for any final rpm. If I were to buy a new impeller, I would get a large hub Solas YQ 9-15 or 12-18, they are nearly identical. Most Blaster wet pipes were made to turn 6700 with a 61x cylinder so a 62T should be turning a little faster.

Was looking to get a starting point. Acquired this 760 that wasn't running. Got it running and now trying to fine tune

Brand = Mikuni
Model =
Size = 44
Quantity = 2
Main Jet = 145... I'm almost certian
Pilot Jet = 120
Needle/Seat = 2.0
Spring = 80g
Pilot screw =1.5
Main Screw =tried them all... Currently at 1/2
Stock everything.
The best it's ran since i had it, idles decent a little rough. Can't seem to get the low side just right. hesitated like idle to 1/4 then went good but only to around 3/4 throttle. Wot is the same as 3/4. Wot has a weird hesitating feel almost a bogging feel. Can't really explain, but no faster than 3/4. Says it should go around 44 mph. I'm getting around 33 mph

Hoping I can just adjust for my current setup.

When you say stock everything, do you mean this is a stock motor in a stock ski (something that came stock with a 760)? If so, why not run stock jetting?

If you have this in some halfway normal stand up setup with dual carbs you're probably WAY rich on your high speed. You'll probably end up in the neighborhood of 120 or 110 on the high speed jet. What you have in there right now is in the ballpark of what people run with a single carb.

Na it's not a stand up. I know this is really a stand up thread, but it's the only thing I could with people posting their settings. It's actually a waveblaster 2 760 with everything stock. I tried using everything stock in the carb but couldn't get it to start or halfway run. I read were someone suggested the jets I'm using and needle and seat and spring and it actually started and after 3 months of rebuilding the carbs, rebuilding the top end, and starter bendix, these jets and spring allowed me to ride it. It's the best I have ever seen it since I've had it. I have been thinking of going to back to stock jets and leaving the 2.0 needle and seat and 80 spring and seeing how that goes

I mean....I know it's probably not what you want to hear, but I'm pretty sure when Yamaha sold it from the dealership brand new and completely stock it started and ran. If it doesn't start and run with everything stock something is wrong.

I'm sure it did lol. Tomorrow Ill go back to the factory jets and see how it runs

Put the factory jets back in, a m the trailer at home it sounded great. In the water it was horrible. At one point, I had it wot and going about 7 mile an hour. Sounding like an exhaust leak now.

I just bought her.. I was told she was jetted for 5k ASL and I ride at 8k asl.. I was hoping that the ski wasn’t going to be that far off jetting wise but she is .. I do understand I am loosing 24% of power just riding that high up but still need help.. any suggestions for jetting?

Hey kahuna or anyone, I have been trying to tune my setup (760cc 5mil with the dual 44's) using a tnt v3 lay down pipe running wet with a spray bar. Started with 115 main 125 low reverse jetting pop off 22. It revs on a stand but in the water under load it won't rev I dropped the main to 110m with little improvement

So the reason I'm replying to your post is that the 7th input down has 100main 115 low with one 44's. First off I'm nervous to run the main jet that low. Wondering what exhaust pipe you were running

Always start rich and lean to peak power. Try 140 mains and the top screws 2 turns open. Slowly work your way leaner until you achieve peak rpm or until response suffers. I expect 125 pilots would be close depending on pop-off pressure.

I was attempting reverse jetting and started with a 115 main wouldn’t rev so installed 110 main still no high revs and wouldn’t get into higher rpm which my understanding is a symptom of a rich main jet.

Sometimes having the pilot numbers larger than the main jet numbers can work. My experience is it makes 1/4 throttle overly rich on SBN 44/46 carbs. Strict freestyle riders or racers can gain response with huge pilots but it will really guzzle gas when you are forced to ride slow. I recommend making the pilots just rich enough for good response off 1/4 throttle, and most importantly, tuning the main jet and top screw rich enough to keep from melting a piston at top speed.

Hello, looking for some advice on my current setup. I have great power from idle to 3/4 throttle, but from 3/4 to full throttle I have no increase in power

That is because you have a pair of 44s which are relatively large for your engine. Dual 38s would match the power to throttle opening better but you would lose a little punch. Since you have a tachometer, make sure the top screws are a little rich of peak rpm.

My previous setup up I was running dual 38s with the same outcome, great power from idle to 3/4 throttle and then the power just falls flat
