Carburetor (specs) Database: SuperJet and Blaster 1

About to drop the engine back into my BOB and looking for suggestions, 64x blowsion head 170psi, oem 44's, b-pipe.

Right now the carbs are at 140 main, 120 pilot, 2.5 N/S with gold 115g spring. 1.75 turns out high and 1.5 out low.

haven't ran this setup yet i got the ski and completely rebuild it, the carb specs seem a bit off from everyone else running a 760 on here

I tired the 120L 115H 2.0 95G-25# on my eBay 760 OEM 44’s and it was rich through the midrange, bottom was meh and top wasn’t that good .
I’m thinking that tune is for Mikuni’s aftermarket SBN 44’s and not OEM 44’s they vary quit a bit from model to model.
Any ways I just got back from the river tuning and it’s running like a raped ape... Crisp snappy throttle response right off idle and everywhere with hard pulling acceleration throughout the entire mid that never lets up. I’ll up the pilot too P117.5 and 120 next time session and see what the motor likes or doesn’t and get that LS closed a bit.
I ended up with this..
115P
132.5M
1.5n/s 80g-38#
LS-2.5
HS-1/2.

1996 Blaster
62t case, 760 cyl, Wiseco crank, Wiseco piston,Triton head,MSD enhancer, Carbon Tech reeds,760 oem 44’s, Riva filter pods,B-head pipe opened up too 48mm,TNT chamber, Coffman WB, Flow control valve, Solas, Carbon ride plate, Work intake,pro-tek trim nozzle.

Some of what I've come up with over the last couple seasons that has worked well for me..... ~3500 feet elevation

Oem 760 carbs
try this
125 low 115 high
20 psi pop off
But make sure youre pipe is set right
top two closed
bottom open 3/4
I tried 120P 115M with 21# and 25# with top and middle closed with the bottom 3/4 turn (pipe was too cold) and it ran okay but nothing close too how it is now. In all honesty I didn’t invest much tuning with the above setup like I did with the current one.
It’s on par now with my MRD in throttle response, it’s very crisp and responsive .. I’m kinda dumbfounded with the high popoff this motor liked with aftermarket AF pods on dual 44’s but it likes what it likes. I typically end up pop-off’s in the 15-22 range with aftermarket Mikuni 44’s and 46’s with A/M filter pods with on my Kawasaki motors this is my first Yamaha.

What jetting was that with ? was that with what I suggested or with what you were running in this quote ??

Just tuned my B1 and it's spot on.

Brand = Mikuni
Model = OEM
Size = 44
Quantity = 1
Main Jet = 140
Pilot Jet = 120
Needle/Seat = 2.0
Spring = 115
Pilot screw = 2
Main Screw = 2
- - - - - -
Gas Octane = 89 ethanol free
Altitude = sea level
Main type of riding = flat water
Would it pass the 10 second WOT test = sure
Powerband =
Motor type/setup = 61x/61x totally stock with Riva red pipe, stock f/a with three screens

This is the closest I could find. What should I start at?

It is on a SN not B1

Brand = Mikuni
Model = SBN
Size = 44
Quantity = 1
Main Jet = ?
Pilot Jet = ?
Needle/Seat = ?
Spring = ?
Pilot screw =
Main Screw =
- - - - - -
Gas Octane = 91
Altitude = 1700'
Main type of riding = flat water
Powerband = want bottom end hit but still have some top end to it.
Motor type/setup = 61x/61x home ported top and bottom, stock electronics, Riva red pipe, ADA girdled head (180psi), stock f/a
Other choice I have is flywheel.. I have both stock 701 and 650. I may have read somewhere that the 650 is lighter.

I would start with the same jetting.

Brand = Mikuni

Pilot Jet = 135
Needle/Seat = 1.5

Main type of riding = surf (no w.o.t runs... Just in case...!)
Powerband = yep. Strong off bottom.
Motor type/setup = 61x/61x, 84mm bore, riva head @210psi, wetjet Mani and carb. Mild case port, heavy cylinder port. Pro tech Mach 2 pipe, ATP waterbox, MSD enhancer, light flywheel. Stock f/a

Powerband = yep.
Motor type/setup = 61x/61x at 82mm. Mild cylinder port. Stock cut head to 180psi. 650sx cheater pipe setup with extra few inches welded into chamber and made 1 piece, Coffman manifold opened up to 50mm and header matched to that. Port matched exhaust and intake etc. Stock flame arrestor.

Pilot screw =1.5
Main Screw = 2

Gas Octane = 93 at 40:1
Altitude = 500
Main type of riding = Lake slidies and jumps
Powerband = Runs great everywhere, peak torque probably midrange.
Motor type/setup = 62t/62t @ 760cc. Port matched, etc. Decked and domed to 190psi. B pipe, MSD analog TL. Dual cooling. Ocean Pro arrestor. VForce 2 reeds. Taper bored carb and FA.

Snappy throttle response everywhere and doesn't load up. Lots of main jet tamed the laggy/snatchy midrange on this one. Posting because it seems unique.

Edit: melted a piston, too lean on top. Rebuilt, still too lean w/3 turns out. Looks like I'm headed for dual carbs. This is great if you don't want extended WOT.

Jetting questions are always entertaining. Start with stock jetting and give it what it needs.
Tomski... You've always been a wealth of information and parts. I'm on page 10 out of 22 and getting bored of reading. What should factory settings be for an 08+.

I've been in line waiting for limited b pipe (for awhile already), throwing on ada head on afterwards.

This is from the late great member Augustaf, what he ran on his SJs. I can tell you from personal experience they were jetted spot on, I now have similar jetting in my 771.

"For displacement below 800cc, I prefer this dual 46 reverse jetting, ( same for silver 44’s)
2.3 ns, 95g spring, 110 high, 120 low. – l/s needle out 3/4, hs needle out 1 1/8"

Note this is with aftermarket intake manifolds, no crossover !

I soon bought a Mikuni sbn 44`s, I would like to know if I am on the right path to start my tuning
the configuration is this:

Brand = Mikuni
Model = SBN
Size = 44 OEM
Quantity = 2
Main Jet = 132.5
Pilot Jet = 115
Needle/Seat = 1.5

can i start the adjustments like this?, i really appreciate the help
