who is running a return line restrictor? I've been told to do this but have left it off my last set of carbs and it was fine without it. I may try it on my current setup though.

I'm gonna use specs from a builder, but wanted to see how you guys are gauging your jetting specs when you change from a single carb to a dual carb setup? Do you just use a finger in the wind and guess or do you actually use your specs from the single to give a frame of reference for the duals?

Cracked open my 44 BlackJacks today, and found 130 on the pilot jet and 110 on the main.
The main is the larger diameter jet, right?
It sounds like my jets should be the other way around, 130 on main and 110 on pilot. My ski has no punch on the bottom end and really does't run that good right now. So do you think that Art misjetted my carbs?

No, that sounds about right for BlackJacks. Mine are also reverse jetted.
But you might call him up and ask if the jetting is appropriate for your setup.

I'm not sure what my jets are but my motor is runs like chit at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. When I feather the throttle and it clears out it runs like a raped ape. Art told me once before that you have to set the idle kind of high on blackjacks. I turned mine up but it didn't seem to do too much. I may just take mine some where to have a "professional" tune it so I can actually ride it instead of dicking with it.

Reverse jetting is not uncommon especially for a freestyle setup. I'm gonna run a reverse jetting on mine.

Then something isn't quite right. I know my setup is crisp and instant everywhere.
Same with two other Jetworks motors in the area.

Any advice for high altitude (5280 feet)?

35cc domes, b pipe (mod), everything else stock from f/a to porting.

I am thinking 135 high, 75 low, 115 gram, 1.5 n/s?

I had pretty decent luck with both of these setups.

145 main jet
120 pilot
2.3 needle / seat
95 gram spring
1.5 high screw
2.5 low screw

or

140 main
120 pilot
80 gram
2.5 n/s
1 high screw
1.25 low screw

In a SN SJ:

Brand = Mikuni
Model = Retail
Size = 46mm
Quantity = 1
Pilot Jet = 120
Main Jet = 150
Needle/Seat = 2.5
Spring = 80g
Pilot screw = 1-1/4
Main Screw = 1-1/2
- - - - - -
Gas Octane = 93
Altitude = Sea level
Main type of riding = Freeride
Would it pass the 10 second WOT test = YES!
Powerband = Bottom to midrange
Motor type/setup = 701 (61x cyl/61x case), mild cylinder porting, 180psi head, Boyson Pro series reeds, Factory "limited" B Pipe, stock F/A.
....

big thanks for that info...

It's pretty easy to see once you take the fuel pump cover and the fuel pump block off the carb. This is the stage where you can take out the internal fuel filter.
You can see the passages for both the fuel in and fuel return nipples.
If the return line is NOT drilled out, you will see a very tiny hole in the return passage. If it is drilled out, the hole will be, well, bigger.

Good thread!!! looking for jetting specs for a 96 waveblaster 1. It has dual 38 mikuni carbs, a head at about 185 psi, Rive red pipe, jetworks flow control valve, and boyen pro reeds. Any help wouild be great!!!
