Custom Made Freestyle Hulls

now think about taking *ANY* aftermarket hull and lawndarting it in the surf. i dont care how many layers of glass/fiber you lay down.. bye bye fancy nose, hello nosejob!

once again.. flatwater v. surf.. in the surf, a fancy hull is just a way of showing off your bling factor as it is not required, although they sure are nice! .. flatwater, lightweight hulls go a much longer way and are much easier to justify granted you're not showing up to a comp with a dunlap!

Yea, it would suck to crunch the nose of your new 5k+ hull.:banghead: I hit botom a couple times in 8-10ft deep water. Its hard to find deep water when surf riding.

BULL ! I have Hammered the bottom with my hull. I can show you bent to crap Kenney Keepers to prove it.... NOT a damn crack on my hull... I droped it out of my truck on concrete and only a couple small scratches... So Lawn dart the Shiot out of my ski... good luck breaking it... I have truely Tried.... I figured.. how many times in my life am I going to get sponsors like I have... so better test it hard now.. so I can afford to get another.... Well no getting another here, unless I do a Flatwater setup !:sneaky: My hull is infreakincredible. No bull ! :Banane01:

I agree with the logic of not needing an aftermarket hull in surf . As the stock one can be reinforces to withstand alot of punishment. Maybe not Pete proof though. But on flatwater your weight = horsepower and control improvement. How many people have $4500.00 in motors built by some of the best out there? I think the right hull is equally important. An if I had $5000.00 to spare I would be on one regardless of my riding abilities. To me lighter is safer and more controlable power on flatwater and boatwakes. I do not think I would spend the money if I rode surf regularly unless I rode like Pete or Slut and it were feesable over repairing regularly. Go easy on me Powder.

Additionally, hull for 5k has WAY less maintenance and breakable parts than a similarly priced performance motor.

Hey more power to ya I say go for it I hope you have all kinds of fun with it. In fact I would guess my next hull will be a one off of some kind. I wasn't saying don't buy hulls I am just saying most people will see little benefit from it and will see more from working on their skills and/or physical condition.

Now if you want to tell me putting 8 oz of water in a 6 oz cup and selling it for the price of 4 oz makes good business sense then I might need to speak up. But for all I know you have had a lemonade stand for 15 years and it’s the secret to your success.

Verry good point. I think a good big bore freestyle ported motor in a light weight hull would be a perfect setup. Kinda like the motor thats goin in my SJ.

I think some people are building there motors with more power then they can handle, then before they get use to all the power, there ski has a thrown rod.:banghead:

I can do hand laid and vac bag carbon. BUT there goes that nice price. A chop gun lay up would be the same as a seadoo hull as far as strength. Not as light, but half the cost.

Kurt

Still more expensive than an OEM hull and the same strenght, if not weaker.

Building hulls is a bussiness just like any other. You need to make a profit in order to survive. I so happens that I actually "love " building these hulls so the hard work is overlooked by the feeling of achievement. Everyone of the custom hulls that leaves my shop to the customer takes a part of me with it.

There are three factors you cannot consider together when building hulls:
strong, light and cheap!!If it's strong and light then it ain't cheap!!

IMO , I think a lighter hull makes more of a difference than adding horsepower.

I also offer financing : Visa, MC AMEX DIS etc... Many of the CC companies offer o interest for 6 to 12 months!! You can't beat that if you pay it off in time

Here's the best way shave 1/2 the weight of a squarenose:
cut it in half!!
:haha:
