D-Roc, how did you attach the floor back in to the tray. mine is cut in 5 pieces, the bottom part, the 2 walls and the footholds???

i cut my tray out in one piece and glassed it back in. i did one side at a time using small wood braces to make the seams flush. I started my footholds tonight and should finish the other one tommorrow i will post some pics up of my progress.

i picked up my WCF hood from parts whore steve this morning along with the nose piece i will be running. both are in great shape and steve even had the hood painted for me. :icon16: wow the ski is looking more and more like my kinda ride already. I used some polyeurathane (sp?) adhesive and rivits to glue in the xft's. I then layed up a few layers of glass on the seam of the one side. i will do the next side later when the adhesive cures more. installed a few brackets and hardware in the hull to. Such fun! I am sure liking the RN hull thats for shore!

I installed my bracket, 24/7 hood hooks, and a new oem steering cable. it took a bit of time but i got the hood to sit quite nicely and then had to align the pole abit to make it look true to the hood. turned out good i think. i need to pickup a hood catch today so i can latch down the hood properly. I ordered up a brand new oem midshaft housing with bearings and seals. i have a new oem midshaft that has been sitting around for a while that i will press in. oem parts are $$$ but imo, some parts are worth it. my ski should have lots of new parts on it by the time it is done. I also serviced the umi steering kit so that it turns really nice again. i had one little ghost ride near the end of season where the ski did not circle back due to an old cable and sticky turnplate. the tray is all done and ready for turf too.

i picked up a FFP waterbox and a 24/7 carbon chinpad and installed them. i am waiting for a FFP hose to come in so i can mock up my front exhaust. I am using a 550 gas tank so it makes a little more room in the hull and it has a dual pickup. i ordered some billet driveline couplers, a new crank, 83mm piston kit, a few jets, and a msd total loss system. i will put the crank and pistons on the shelf with my stock electrical. they will be backup parts to keep me running this season. hopefully i don't need them. the total loss is used so its getting sent to JSS for a makeover. total loss is a big ticket item and it is hard to drop that kinda coin on it but the bottom end hit is well worth it. i was torn between total loss or x-metal pole, i always go for motor stuff before cosmetics. i just can't help it.

i got some of the turf down on the ski, it turned out pretty good for me.:icon16: i also figured out my front exhaust setup. it ain't pretty. i think it will work fine. much better than last years location. if i get my midshaft housing this weekend i can finish up the pump alignment and start shimming the motor. yeehaa...good times. this week i also found TDC. yup, at first i wasn't sure where it was...but i used my brand new degree wheel and dial indicator and there is was. :bananajump: stop looking everyone, i found my TDC...lol.

lol, well....... lets just say i didn't paint the sides of the inside of the hull for a reason. i have something that i am going to try and fall back on the reinforcing when/if i snap my hull.

X Metal pole isn't cosmetics only. You'll break that OEM. Do it 3 times and your X MEtal will start to pay for itself. I'll have an OEM avaliable as soon as I take it off my ski.

Can't wait to ride this year. LEt me know when the river warms up, I'll be down.

yeah x-metal poles are amazing but i can ride my ski just as well with my stocker. i beefed it up at the base and haven't snapped one since. in time i will get the pole to finish the ski, but for now i would rather have a total loss. it's a shame cause the x-metal pole fits so nice and low compared to the stocker. lowers center of gravity for gay hood tricks even more.

i finished my turf today while steve was over with his hull project. he is too punk to post so i snagged a pic of him in action. its great to know that if i get my ski finished in the next few weeks, steve can always use some help to get his ski back together.
