Mark, I think we all get what your saying. You dont see a need, fine, that is your view....... No reason to dump all over Wax's thread here..... You dont want one, you dont have to buy one. That's why I referenced it. Just another lie that kept everybody dreaming about something that turned into crap. At least it was true about having power at 965 or 1105, unlike this 701 turd. Was going to be fairly affordable until the powers that be, refused to sell just top end kits, because they didn't think the buyers could finish the build properly.
Exactly! What does it hurt to have options. it will only help.I'm always happy to see more standup jetski products, help keep the sport alive.
For some reason people love to hate new released products in jetskiing. Not sure why anyone would dislike an attempt to support an industry where there is no longer an OEM, and aftermarket support is nil. Thinking about factory pipe here, where they obviously do not care about jetskiing, we should be ecstatic for wax to be remaking the pipes, which are a proven loved design.Exactly! Not only that. If Wax is successful, who knows, maybe he would try his hand on a larger displacement 2-stroke engine? For some reason people love to hate new released products in jetskiing. Not all of us are after mega power. Im getting old and freeride/ wake jump more then anything. I dont ride in circles doing flip after flip twirling around. When you consider the cost of a 61x cyl, then bigbore it, port it, bore/ hone it, buy a girdled head ect ect you can have quite a bit wrapped up into a 61x cyl. My old lamey was 81mm (to start) cast cylinder that was much beefier and had 7 intake ports and a huge exhaust port. It worked awesome comparend to any 61x cyl. I know id be interested in a bolt on 84mm based topend with stock like head and excellent porting out of the box and beefy enough for no need for a girdled head. If it was priced right id think it would be popular and save trying to make a 61x cylinder perform. Powervalves could be an option too
Very untrue there are countless 701 VXR's, Waverunner lll's and Waveraiders running around with 61x engines in them, fresh water very clean I work on them all the time, also a 62T clylinder works quite well if it is ported properly.Everything out there is now old and mo and st of it is rough. Check the price of a new OEM crank and a 760 top end. I think the aftermarket can do a little better for similar money. The only question, can you convince a lender to fund any of this?
couldnt agree more and is a thicker casting.also a 62T cylinder works quite well if it is ported properly.
If they are out there running good then they are not up for sale. So Moot Point. There are probably 30 ski's at a powersports repair shop here sitting in their back yard getting covered in weeds, Does not mean they are available to be sold...Very untrue there are countless 701 VXR's, Waverunner lll's and Waveraiders running around with 61x engines in them, fresh water very clean I work on them all the time, also a 62T clylinder works quite well if it is ported properly.
