Small motors are still cool. I just finished up a 760 with a 4mil. Still waiting on wax to finish his intake manifold

If they are out there running good then they are not up for sale. So Moot Point. There are probably 30 ski's at a powersports repair shop here sitting in their back yard getting covered in weeds, Does not mean they are available to be sold...
Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist are loaded with these skis every year, those are defiantly for sale, I believe I sold Gil one a few years back at the time I could have sold him five or more, since then most have been used in older Superjet engine swaps, I pass on theses skis usually because even if you get one and repair it no one wants them, they want fast skis, three man skis and fourstrokes now.

A lot of truth to this. I had more fun on my xfs with a 701 the last 2 months then I did the last year and a half with my 900.

Totally true. They are as un-cool as standup riders get hahaha God I hate those things.

Why is this thread 6 pages long? Because this is a major new part, nothing else is coming out, and we wanna talk about it.

As for 61x cylinders, they are still easy and cheap to aquire. I remember when chevy 350's were like that too. That time is gone, and the 61x's time will be eventually too.

Not this year, everyone around here thinks their trash VXR and WR3's are worth $2,500 now.

Right on. Anything around here that shows up with a 7xx motor in it (Wave raiders, Wave runners, whatever) is either being sold for some ridiculous price, or is gobbled up by the Zerg the hour it's posted, or both!

Actually this thread is about nothing until the part is widely available. There are a lot of interesting aspects of this hobby. As a group we tend to hit our limit at buying parts or changing the external appearance of out skis.

But here is where the difference is. You have people bringing them to you!!!!!!! The average rider does not. So, if someone is donating one or sell cheap, buy them, sell the parts. Many would much rather buy from you than off ebay.

Hence my "Around here". I am a little far from AL.

I have already done the parting out of turds thing, that is how I got the 701 for my 91 SJ. That being said, if you just need a 701 cylinder that is $350 per your link for the ski, $200 to have it bored and honed, lets say $200 to have it ported so the average guy is, lets call it $700 for a used ready to go 61X cylinder (assuming no cracks or damage) with all the hassle of finding a turd ski and stripping it down.
I don't have the time or want for that so why not just buy a ready to go cylinder from WaxRacing even if it is close to the same price?

That is a sign (not just of inflation) but that our sport is growing.
It is a good sign.
And should encourage aftermarket manufacturers.
