DISCONTINUING THE SUPERJET????

Is it like the automobiles, where the manufacturer has to continue to stock/produce parts for a certain number of years after production ceases?

No. Yamaha has been able to keep mfg'ing the SJ under a grandfather clause. They cannot make any major changes as far as motor goes (2 stroke). Also it is sold as Competition Only. Which means no warranty (if not mistaken). Once a model 9s discontinued there is a set time mfg is suppose to supply replacement parts. Polaris and Tigershrark had to do this.

This was my question. Not sure what motor modifications and warranties have to do with replacement parts. Talking about parts support/production after they cease production.

Exactly, people can speculate with their “reliable” info all they want. Until Yamaha officially announces something, no one knows a thing.

No need to speculate, the info is already out there if you know where to look. Iv have been following these reports for 5yrs and they have never been wrong.

It's mandatory federal testing that yamaha has to do if they want to sell the product in 2020. If it's not on that paper it's not happening, simple as that. I guess we can revisit this in a few months to show that I was not "speculating" lol.

Just playing devils advocate but that was for the 1050 platform specifically. I imagine the chances are small but possible they are using a different powerplant either new development or something they have in the stable. Would a turbo'd TR1 be on that same sheet or would it have its own EPA form?

I have the sheets for every engine yamaha is making for 2020 and what models they are going into. I just posted part of the TR1 sheet since that was the engine people seemed to be questioning the most.

A turbo TR1 would be tested separately and have its own paperwork.

The 701 is a exception that is no longer retested yearly.

The 701 SuperJet is classified as a “competition use only” pwc. It does not currently pass emissions so there is no need to even test it. This is why you need to obtain a ISJBA card to prove you are a "racer" in order to buy a new SJ.

So this does not prove that it is not available for 2020.

I don't know if they will keep making the current 701 SJ or not. I hope they do.

All I know is that there is no new 4 stroke SJ coming out that everyone keeps talking about.
