Has anyone had a zeel itself go bad? Bought a used zeel setup and I’ve been chasing issues with it. Did coil with no change. Did stator (aftermarket) worked for a bit than sucked again. Other stator did the same thing when it was installed. Runs perfect on the msd enhancer.

Did you hook it up to a laptop and confirm the settings?
What exactly do you mean by stator? The only thing the zeel cares about is the trigger built into the cover. Also if you replaced a zeel with an enhancer something is wrong. Are you trying to run a zeel with 62t electronics?

You got it to run of a 62t Stator ??
Make sure your battery is solid.
I'm wondering what lead you to suggest this? The specs say it will run with full spark energy at 7 volts and I have definitely had skis start and run with batteries that were BARELY able to crank the motor.
I chased some tuning issues for a while with little luck, I was also having to charge my battery regularly to get reliable starts. I swapped in a new battery because I was afraid of swimming it in and I swear my ski ran noticeably better.
I think the zeal runs off of battery power where the factory CDI runs off the stator, which would make sense that a strong battery would be required for optimal performance. I could be wrong. (See post #1317)

Is anyone not picking up the fact here that he compared to a msd. they are not compatible so I dont even know how he got it fire let along run

Yeah maybe but he is talking about an aftermarket stator. This it the bit that's confusing me
