DIY Total loss or MSD TL upgrade box 270USD?

What are the differences between the PDCIS-01T and the PDCIS-02T? I am troubleshooting a 01T for a buddy in a 760 setup right now. Has a bad misfire only when using the zeel. Do the flywheels get setup the same for 01T and 02T?

Is the 3rd lump removed? Have you verified the tune in the zeel?

Only difference is the 02T won’t drain the battery whereas the 01T always has a constant draw.

02t on the left

The major changes are the automatic power down which greatly reduces stand by current (the power it draws when it's just sitting there not doing anything), and the latching stop.

There is still some parasitic draw, but .0005 amp is pretty small, and I'm not sure how the power down thing works, probably the stand by current is .09 amps like the 01t when you first hook it up, and when you first kill the motor, then it somehow decides to power down, my guess is it's some length of time with no activity and it powers down.

Awesome post, there is all the info you need to know right there

Are you sure this is correct? My 02t drained my battery after sitting for several weeks. Also, there is a small spark when hooking up my 02t indicating a current draw.

I know it’s the main change. Whether the 02T will completely drain a battery after weeks or months- I don’t know. But the 01T definitely would kill a battery in that time.

With that said, I don’t understand all the issues people have been having here with batteries. Been using my same lithium featherweight battery for 2.5 years now. Could easily ride 5-6 hours as TL with bilge pump on till it would die. Could recharge it completely in an hour and be ready to go again. I also ride my ski weekly and leave battery connected, but I would never leave a battery connected if I wasn’t going to ride for 3 weeks or more. Takes 10 secs to disconnect.

I think it's more like I never had to disconnect the battery on my 62t superjet so it slipped my mind. On my TL flip ski the battery comes out after every ride so no chance for a slow drain.

@waxhead I'm not sure how much you discuss these ignitions with Borut, but wondered if it would be possible to request a feature in zeelprog that tells you when the cdi has detected the trigger. So like you set up your dial indicator or mark your static angle somehow, rotate crank by hand and have something in zeelprog that tells you when the trigger is detected. It would be very similar to using a light or buzz box setting points, in fact the really slick way to do it would be an audible signal so you can watch your marks and just hear when it triggers.

Not sure if it would work with the type of trigger used on the oem setup (maybe the trigger doesn't behave the same at near zero velocity?), but it does seem like it could be handy for checking static angle if it would work.

Like MSD does. Good idea

That's a great idea.

One I've been thinking or wishing it would do, is that the rev limit seems to be global, regardless of which map you're on. I think it would be nice if it could be specified for each map.

I read through all these pages, and am left with these questions.
1: @waxhead are you making / selling billet 64x flywheel covers? I can’t find them on your site.
2: Post 914 from @jr shows a paper that states resistor plugs AND resistor caps are required. How critical is this and what will or could occur if I only run resistor plugs, with a stock superjet coil / wires and non resistor msd caps?

JetManiac just received our reorder shipment with the new Zeel design.

It looks very nice. Box is smaller and now potted with a rubber plug over programming port.
Great update for helping to prevent issues, if ebox gets wet, especially in saltwater. Also a programming change was made so the lump does not need to be removed from the flywheel.
