they are an anular discharge carb right ??

It would depend on the porting alot this could be making it sluggish down low

are you running water injection ??
what bore size do you have because 37cc domes will make for a very low compression and this in itself could be the reason you are slugish down low

let me know what jets are in it when you find out
also a comp check as i suspect its very low

Yep, they are anular discharge carb. supposed to atomize fuel much better.
No water injection (nor was it on the previous ski).
std bore 81mm
I'll check compression tonight too. I did run these domes on my other superjet, it too was std bore, but was not ported at that time.
I am also running a riva intake mani and spacer plate with CF reeds (on OEM cages)

I'll get more details on the carbs and compression after work... and go from there. Truthfully, I did not give compression much of a thought here, just because they came off another SJ with good all around power. I'll for sure check that out.

Thanks man...

OK, so back on topic here:

Anyone that has a stock manifold for thier 44's - FILL IN YOUR CROSSOVER TUBE!!!!

I am FINALLY at 1 turn out on my low screw!! YEAH!!!!:arms:
My current jetting is: 120/110/2.5/80g
I am still slightly rich.
I will be trying 117.5/105/2.5/80g in the near future.

It is so nice to be closer to crisp.
Not to mention having a ski that idles well.

HUGE thanks to WAX and Paul for all the help they have given me so far!:cheer:

I'll post more when I try the new jets.

Thought so. That is a ported lamey with B pipe correct? Fill the cross over you say? Hmmmmm I have a cross over in mine.

This is also close to what Wax just told me on mine. Hope it works out for me because I am at my wits end on these jets.

He used devcon, I used J-B Weld on mine.

You have something against devcon, is that why you dare to be different  Geek's epoxy is not good enough for ya :28: I see how it is

Filling the cross over
What affect did this have?

Mark44

It returned my sanity.

It made tuning possible.
No matter what jet combo/ n-s combo I tried, I could not get it to start with anything less than 2 turns out on the low speed screws.
NO MATTER WHAT!

Since I filled in the cross-over, I am now close to getting the jetting on.
I have joy in my heart now. :Banane01: :woot:

checked compression last night... 150/cylinder... but while doing so I blew the rear crank seal... so... i guess I'll go through the carbs while i have it all on the bench again... :frown:

at least my RN is running again (and at 185/cyl too)

I think smaller domes are in the pipe line for you to help it off the bottom
say 33-35 cc domes
i would go for 33cc and then see what it is you can always make them bigger

Wax,
I checked my extensive n/s, spring and jet collection last night. I have a 2.3 N/S and 80 gram springs which should put me closer to the pop that you are recommending vs: using the 2.0 and 65 gram. I have 105 main ordered and other jetting in stock.

ok try that
and set the pop off to about 16-17psi
make sure you use the guage if you dont you have no idea and it can be withing in about 5psi of that figure and you will never be able to tune it
