Enclosed Trailer Thread,

Hey OCD,

Did you ever happen to get measurments for your enclosed trailer? Also what did you use on the front to ratchet them so they dont move driving down the road? It looks like a cool mechanism. I am hoping to buy most of that at my local stores.

The front points are fixed and matched to each ski. I hook it on the front and then push the ski up tight and cinch the back down. It's just a standard tie down with double hooks. I looped the extra strap between the hooks and taped it all down tight. To make it easier to hook the skis up, I then slid a piece of 3/4" pipe insulation down over the assembly to make it rigid and to help hold the strap hook on the tie down point.

All the measurements you really need are the bunk spacing and it's best if you measure your skis to be sure. I put mine at 12 1/2" on center and made them 4ft long. also, the bunk spacing between the skis will be different as one of my skis is a Matrix and is wider.

Hey do you mind sending me the demsions of the beach cart? just browsing through the thread, and nice trailer idea i thought of the same thing

After thinking a little more on it I decided to go with the Tiger Tote. Just believe it will be a little easier to load and unload from the enclosed trailer like OCD uses.

Does anyone happen to know a good company that makes cabinets for the enclosed trailer. Would prefer metal or aluminum. Trying to find some but everything I find is rediculously priced.

Check out pitposse or redline engineering. I orgered the deluxe helmet rack and the storage station. They are made of aluminum and you have your choice of color between black and bare aluminum. I beleive i paid around the 140 mark for each.

Hey Chris. Yeah I did. I do like some of the accessories but was looking for more of a cabinet style but what I might do is build my own out of wood and then order some of the stuff from TowRax. Havent decided much. Just got the flooring for the trailer today so when it comes in I plan to do the walls and flooring first and then build the part like OCD has for the skis. Once that is done later this summer I will probably focus on some cabinets.

well i just picked up some black and white race checker lino to lay on the floor. This weekend I am going to do a flame job on the walls. I also picked up a jbl powered speaker, plug into the generator for some loud ass riding tunes.

The uprights are bolted thru the wall and the lower 4x4's are just sitting between them. The upper and lower bunks are built as an assembly and can be removed in a matter of minutes leaving the trailer empty except for the 4 uprights.

There is a 2x4 screwed to the front upright to keep the bottom bunk assembly from tipping up when loading the first ski.

I kind of lost you on how you built this to be removable. That is actually what I want to be able to do. So the 4x4 that are laying on the inside of each 4x4 going the width of the trailer are just sitting there with the bunks on them so you can slide that whole section out? I think if I read that right that is what I understand.

Also do you strap the back of the skis down at all?

Yeah I plan to use some type of wood seal and then I am putter Racedeck down. Lock together tile basically but plastic so its light and durable. I am excited but I wish you were closer so I could look at your construction in person lol. I want to replicate that bad.

Hey OCD, What did you end up using on top of your rails? Where did you buy the stuff at? Does it leave marks on any of your ski?

Planning on buying some of the stuff this weekend to start preparing.

Thanks Man
