I have ridden several Team Scream motors over the last 8-9 years... There is no better people to deal w/ and their product knowledge is unsurpassed in this sport. Team Scream rules it!!!!
Even though this is really just a pot stirring, thread I'll tell you what I think anyway. My suggestion is to ride different boats and see who builds what you like. After that, talk to the builder you're considering and get a feel for them. In my opinion, the relationship with the builder is almost as important as the quality of the work. I would settle for slightly less power(thankfully I don't have too)in exchange for the relationship I have with my builders. I trust them completely and wouldn't trade my situation for anything. I've been dealing with them for many years now and plan to for years to come.
Are u prepared for the additional work that comes with a specialty motor.
Charging the battery every few rides and mixing Avgas with pump gas doesn't seem too daunting to me...
I ride mine in the surf a lot, and treat it the same way as I did with my limited engines.....no hassles here.
