This is funny (the responses here).

If the class didn't spend any time on the water, I still would think any one of you would be happy to spend some time with Eric and furthermore, go out drinking with him Saturday night and talk ski crap.

From spending time with Bogart I picked up so much invaluable stuff. Pat always mentions the technical tips that Eric gives him. If Pat's valuing tips from Eric, shouldn't any one of us?

Wouldn't any one of you want Eric to look at your boat and riding style and give you both, riding, and performance tips?

C'mon.

Just because you are good at doing something doesn't mean you can teach it... not saying he can't, but it is a stretch to think he could tell me any differently than anyone else could... I could get my wife to explain exactly how to do a BR, but she can't do one... werd???

.....and I would much rather have a beer w/ her :Banane01: :Banane01: :Banane01: :Banane01:

:haha: :haha:

i will buy you a case of Tucher if you put on an orange PFD, hop off your ski and walk up to malone and give him a f/s sponge......

and of course, try and make him understand the logic behind it......:tomato:

I would love to do it for one reason.. I cant setup wake for shiot.... I have done so many different ways.. and 1 out of 5 I get nice... and mind you, when I get them... I can barrel or whatever.. even been working on double troubles... But my setup wake SUCKS F-IN ARSE... I go ride flat and spend the whole time, setup waking... :banghead: I am getting better slowly but surely... I think ! there is my reason.. laugh away.

This is exactly why I am going, and why I always like riding with peps who know more than me. TXJFrosty has told and shown me more that I could have accomplished in years. Reading all of the posts on here has helped me alot, but having someone show you makes it seem easier to me! I am the type of person that learns by experience, not words. The words, sometimes do not translate into action, at least with me. With a little over one year ride time on my ski, Frosty and the X, together have taught me to sub, fountain, 180 nose stab sometimes, and get almost halfway around on a BR. What I hate is not wanting to go out when the water is flat, because I'm bored on the ski. That is why I quit riding my Sea poo. I got bored!

I have been pumped all week, got my boat all ready and made a list of things I have to bring on the trip. Took the ski out today about 6:30 for a test ride and I am about 70% sure that I tore my ACL!!!!!!:banghead: :banghead: Is that not the biggest mother $%#&er. I took the time to set the boat up and I was just praying that I did not have a mechanical failure..........well I guess my prayers were anwsered, boat is great!

I was not doing anything radical, just jumped a wave and....mid air,,,,, POP!!! Once I heard it go I knew it was not good. Got back to the ramp limping. I think eveyone thought I was joking for a while until they saw me almost collape a couple of times b/c my left leg would just buckle.

Called Tommy and he said the it is still worth the trip b/c there is still information to be had by lectures, demos and hearing all the feedback. Plus I already have a non refundable room and the clinic price, so if I don't go I can kiss that $$ good bye. I will be there late tomorrow night. I am going to see my doctor tomorrow afternoon for a diagnosis, but the leg is in no condition to ride. It is freaky, no swelling, no pain but it feels like my left leg has a roller skate on it and I don't have full control. I have the worst luck :dunno:

I didn't think you were joking at all, and it worried me from the beginning. I hope it's not a tear. Give me a call today once you find out something.

Definitely come. Funny, I have been toying with the same problem with my knee all summer. It's possible that yours is not fully torn. Try wrapping it tight with an Ace bandage.

My wetsuit actually also doubles to hold my knee together.

Surf riders probably won't appreciate it much, but those of us that ride mostly flatwater, it's a huge thing.
There you have it. I'm proud of my poor technique and I could give two ********s about setup wakes and being able to flatwater BR. Maybe it's a surf rider thing, but I'm with yamaslut.

Insert cheesy reference to "free"ride here.

Well, how was it? Does riverrat have a new texalium ACL or what?

Thankfully the knee is healing.......I think I just sprained it pretty bad b/c toward the end of the clinic it was feeling ok......little loose and will still try and buckle from time to time but not bad.

The clinic was cool. We were all sitting on out ski's in the lake as malone was showing us how to make a take off wake and he was skying on his rolls. He did one roll that was about 6 ft from me  like it was nothing. I was just hanging out, sitting in the tray of my boat and was looking up at him while he was rolling...........cool as hell. His boat in insane as well. He let us take out the EME 1000 and that thing is seriously like a missile w/ a handle pole. Dangerous power, I don't see how he controls it. Very cool boat and it sounds great!! :hail: Sick performance

Worth every penny. I can't describe the power of his boat except honestly scary.

Made some new friends there too.

Eric was a really mellow guy, not what I expected and he answered every question we asked about his boat, riding, etc. Had beer and a great dinner. He laughed with us about the stuff he reads on the Net (rumors about him/his boat etc.).

Later in the evening around the campfire we experimented to see which burns campfires best, straight 93, C14/93 (50/50), and straight Sunoco race. Don't really remember which won.

Tommy and Rosie were just as cool to hang with.
