Do it twice?That's DooDoo
I was thinking about doing something like that with my stock hood... but have no idea how to do it... figured I would save myself a headache for once.... already doing so many other projects to this thing....

you should be ok... i wouldn't worry about it.

yeah, i usually only reinforce between the footholds, but that's cool... you'll be all set now.

Looks really good...

ok.... so if a seagull, eagle, or something poops a brick and it lands on the front of my tray it won't crack right? I wasnt sure if that was a normal place to throw some glass, so I just did it... oh well... another pound extra for me to loose to make up for it

yeah, actually i've seen plenting of riders do that. I've only done full tray after refoaming, cuz i cut such a huge section out of the middle of the tray to get the wet foam out and pour the new foam.

I hear ya on the hood... i was hoping to save myself some work also, looking and looking and waiting gets to be a PITA.

tank you

looks good
make sure you have the insides of the footholds covered with glass thats where all the weight goes on hard landings imo
tanks for the pics on the reinforce, prob will part out and sell once i get a crack. or fix it then. or not ride hard

this build is great...but it makes me angry i didnt do as good of a job on my own build lol.....

i skipped on the nose, but i did under the handlepole... a little less in the tray and the same holds

just put my dual cooling line in last night and im ordering the tmb pump stuffer cone thing and a cutback mag prop soon....

time to start putting things back together....it sucks when you feel like all you are doing is cutting holes in a nice new ski

nice work though eric

Thanks guys. I just finished putting turf on the other foothold/side of the ski last night... already I am getting much better at turfing....

It went pretty well.

One thing I was wondering is: if you accidently scrape your gel coat with the razor blade (about 1.5" scrape) all the way through the gel coating.... is there a way to fix? Any recommendations? It isnt terrible, but it urks me that it is there and I want to fix. Thank you.

i pulled the liner out of my hood so i can cut it into a lowered hood. I will be making a new liner. You need some kind of liner to prevent water from pouring into the motor compartment... and to ad structural strength to the hood.

How much is a pretty much new stock hood going for these days? I might consider doing that in my spare time when I'm bored... I got a wammer hood coming, but it sounds like an interesting project.

dang! You've done alot! I put my foot holds in, and reinforced my tray... But I didn't reinforce anything else. You must be planing to go big! I'm hoping to get some parts in come spring. I definatly need a prop. How you like yours? Also Why not try cutting your hand pole down for now. I got the xmetal set up and I cut my pole down. Works good

I dont plan on going big... I plan on trying to go big and falling on my azz  I like the prop I have... I did notice a little difference when I changed to the solas from the stock. I was planning on cutting my handpole down for now, but I have decided to go x-metal... I like the way their poles look better than stock, and I already have my ski torn apart so now would be the logical time to switch up.

I would DEF. recommend reinforcing around the hoodlip and the handpole bracket... many people told me to do that.

what do you mean the hood lip? the hood itself? or where it sits on the ski body? I didn't renforce around the pole bracket, do you do this underneith? I need to get a new hood seal.

yeah... like right under the hood seal (not under the seal itself, but in the engine compartment up under where the hoodseal sits)... I put cabosil mixed with epoxy up in there and ran my glass right over that when I reinforced the sides, firewall, and bracket area.

I then trimmed it all off with a dremel to match the lip all the way around.

The bracket you would have to reinforce from underneath...

I am going to be learning nose stabs and will attempt a few rolls after I get the stabs down... as I am learning rolls I wanted to have the sides and the hoodlip reinforced... I reinforced the nose in case I hit bottom... the tray and the firewall I reinforced for the heck of it... and the handpole bracket area is prob a good idea to reinforce no matter what.

what is that cabosil mix?

Aerosil/Cabosil... check out US Composites website... you can get it other places too... it is a strong filler... mix it with your epoxy to a peanut butter consistancy. It is like snowflakes... really weird powdery stuff, but it works great!
