Blue, I just reread your post. Correct, the ET uses strong springs to try and correct some port timing issues.I don't think ET uses dasa power valve Springs. The power valves in my dasa 1100 will almost dance up and down when the motors idling and in the ET they don't move unless you hit the throttle really hard.

By keeping the guillotines down longer, they trick the motor into having a stronger pulse off the bottom.
I have tried to help a couple of local guys with tuning ET motors. They were difficult at best to make run well off the bottom. The strong spring helped, but sacrificed into a fairly short powerband due to it
