Finally have the ski I always wanted...now what?

Every winter, for the past 10 years, I have torn my ski down for upgrades, for the most part of the past 6 years I have upgraded to a new hull each year. I have finally arrived at a setup that does everything I want, has everything I want and really couldn't perform any better for the type of riding I do. This could very possibly be the first year ever that my ski gets cleaned up, covered up and stuck in the corner of the garage until next spring. This is a pretty odd notion for me, has anybody else bought or built a ski they can finally just say is good enough? I honestly have been toying with the idea of selling it just to start another build but I think that would be a mistake.
I have a couple other hulls to build and likely will get a couple skis in this winter to build/upgrade for other riders but I think, aside from a couple small items, my ski is done. Weird.

Your either old, have no other hobbies to spend money on, or make a very good living. Enjoy it!
None of the above, my ski isn't anything amazing but it does everything I want. I set all of my other hobbies aside to get it on the water, sold my boat and my streetbike. Between my ski and my family, I don't have free time for the other stuff.
This picture has pretty much everything that is important in it, the rest was just garage filler.

Same situation for me this year. I'm still going to tear the ski down just to go over every bolt and insert again with anti sieze/locktite and do at least a freshen up on the engine. It's too weird to not to. I have no "wish list" for winter upgrades, just maintenance. I think my wife is more excited because she interprets this as her getting to finally park her car in the garage if there's not a ski being built (which would be a first).

Haha, for sure, I usually have an extensive spreadsheet going right now for parts I want to buy. I am going to tidy up my bilge wiring, swap some hardware for some nicer cap screws and focus on getting my X-Jet built for a backup/wife ski.

No way in hell will I buy a Blaster, no seats for me. Next build will be my WDK X-Jet freeride ski, then an SXR for high speed stuffs.

I'm at the point where I want a bone stock superjet to cruise around on. I won't ever do another full build.

Or eventually get my blaster back on the water.

My ski has far more potential as it sits than I ever will as a rider. I haven't added any performance mods in years. But for giggles this winter I am gonna cut her open, defoam, add a trim tube and trim, refoam with polystyrene, add a couple drains, finally install the Pancake Pete front foothold that has been sitting in a box for probably 4 years, and returf.

I was talking to a guy on the lake a few days ago that was drooling over my Chan and was talking about how bad he wanted to upgrade from his 2011 Superjet. At that point I had a revelation, I have had the same amount of fun on all of my skis, back to a bone stock SJ or the few 550s I have owned. I like my current ski better than any of them but they have all been the same amount of fun, I told him to be cautious about spending too much money because it doesn't always equate to more enjoyment. I don't think he believed me :)

I actually had that discussion with my wife last night......... Just want a good "Stock Class Superjet". Shot down in flames.

I came to the same conclusion once I built and rode my first Matrix. I upgraded to the Pro carbon hull just because the opportunity presented itself rather than any want or need. I still miss my original hull and love that WAB makes a point to polish and buff it every single time ride with him just to rub in how much he knows I miss it, lol.

I tossed around several ideas about different builds or the next project but finally decided that it would be a much better idea to gear towards a hobby that generated funds rather than depleted them. And from that thought, OCD Solutions was born. Now I spent so much time doing OCD stuff that I never even think about riding.

I thought the same thing with my new build, but I am going to tear it down anyways. There is always stuff you can update or upgrade. Add little details to clean up the engine bay, add paint, graphics, clean it. Its easy to tear down and rebuild it after the initial build because there arent those learning curve pains.

I'm at the same point with my skis. For the first time since 2008 my winter upgrade list is a blank sheet of paper. I'll pull them both apart just to go over them and clean them up but, it looks like my wallet will get a rest this year... And with the Canadian exchange these days, that's a good thing.

Time to focus on skills and conditioning
In addition to building my new hull, this is what has been going through my head. Every winter I slowly get out of shape only to struggle to quickly regain what I lost in the spring. Some sort of work out routine + a balancing activity is probably the winter rebuilding that is really needed for me...
