@yamanube can you tell us a little more about what you found to be the perfect ski for you?

I'm pretty happy with what I have... but at the same time i'm always eyeing those last little things to squeeze out a little more Oomph out of my setup, like Total Loss or bigger pump. But man this is a expensive hobby. "I can buy a stock SN for under 2k, or I can buy a mag pump for my ski." Friggen ridiculous.

My other problem is I keep riding other hulls that I really like. So I get this voice in my head saying "maybe... maybe if I can find that hull used... I could sell my hull..." yada yada yada.

Every winter, for the past 10 years, I have torn my ski down for upgrades, for the most part of the past 6 years I have upgraded to a new hull each year. I have finally arrived at a setup that does everything I want, has everything I want and really couldn't perform any better for the type of riding I do. This could very possibly be the first year ever that my ski gets cleaned up, covered up and stuck in the corner of the garage until next spring. This is a pretty odd notion for me, has anybody else bought or built a ski they can finally just say is good enough? I honestly have been toying with the idea of selling it just to start another build but I think that would be a mistake.
I have a couple other hulls to build and likely will get a couple skis in this winter to build/upgrade for other riders but I think, aside from a couple small items, my ski is done. Weird.

Bold new graphics, obviously.

No way in hell will I buy a Blaster, no seats for me. Next build will be my WDK X-Jet freeride ski, then an SXR for high speed stuffs.

I didn't think I would want a blaster until after I hurt my back. There is something to be said about a sport oh little ski that is not as physically abusive. As you said, all of your skis have been fun. A b1 is a great boat for days where you have a bum shoulder or some other problem that would make you skip a ride. My reality check with my mortality really made me appreciate the b1. They are also becoming rare, especially stock hulls, so they are a good investment.

Honestly, if I still felt I was invincible and wasn't concerned about being unable to ride my superjet, (why I ride a b1 for now), I'd be wanting to build a 1200 B2. I think that would be an awesome boat.

I didn't mean just for wave jumping on the b2. I just meant an all around fun recreational machine. I think it'd be a lot of fun to just take out and have a good time on. I really enjoy the gp1200, but I think the b2 hull would be more fun with that power.

I finally built a SN that is very reliable and does not exceed my riding ability. After building up 5 SJs and a few B1s mild to wild I learned what to do and what not to do. Plus The little time I have these days to ride I don't spend it wrenching or tuning. It took about 10 years to get to this point though. Unfortunately these lessons have cost me thousands of dollars to figure out. For me all I need is a prop, pipe, head and footholds.

And that right there is the problem! Winters are the worst for idle times. I built up everything I owned just to stay busy and kill the boredom.

I am far more inclined to leave my ski intact now that I can ride year round. In fact, I have needed to replace my turf for over a year now and keep putting it off because I know I can't start the job unless I have the time to get it finished up before we ride again.

I was implying that by the sounds of it, riding your ski is far in the back of your mind and that you'd never wear it out.

That might be close to the truth these days. I need to stop worrying about helping everyone else stay on the water and get back out there myself.
