Ive used Tom21 sponsons and love them. Have also used blowson destroyers and the worked well the Tom21 ones IMO were a lot better. No chine walk, more bouncy, and a bit more playful. There on my 1990 square but I believe we both have the same bottom hulls. Just my $.02

Thank you for the response. I just searched Tom21 and he hasn’t been on the forums in some time. Is there any other way to get a hold of him?

I assume like every new superjet owner you get so stupid excited about the all cool stuff Blowsion sells for your ski.. I was suckered into the goodness of non needed billet parts after a tremendous night of drinking… Stoked to be a new owner of a clear billet Blowsion fuel cap and rear exhaust tip himdinger… heck yes
Super stoked for the break in tomorrow, getting my wife’s 550sx and two place trailer so I don’t have to unload/load out of the back of the truck anymore.

A very up and down day… I did my heat cycles on the trailer, checked inside the motor bay for leaks or lose clamps.. We were good to go. Definitely a different ski, even at 7800 ft above sea level she rips dang good. Put the ski back on the trailer at the ramp to check plugs.. tried to start the ski to nudge it a little more on the trailer and nothing..The start/stop switch must have failed or I think it did. The fuse was good, I could run the bilge pump and even took apart the start/stop switch apart.. nodda
Pretty bummed but this is the 2 stroke jet ski game and will get a new switch coming. I have to take apart the e box to install the new adjustable CDI so a good time to change it out. So I am going to overnight or fastest ship from @JetManiac a new start/stop internals.

I just had the same exact symptoms. Drove the ski onto the trailer. Pulled the trailer out of the water tried to start it to flush the water out of the water box. Nothing. No crank no start.

I also assumed it was the on/off switch. It was the starter relay. I had one from another engine whch I swapped it in. And my wife has been riding it this last month no problems.

Ask Chris at @JetManiac (fast) if he has gotten more in. Or @john zigler at Watcon (fast). Otherwise buy a new starter relay from Partzilla (much slower).

Don't be disappointed. This is still a great sport. But it sucks when your ski doesn't run or doesn't run good. It will be ok.

Now I have to go pull the carb on the FX-1 and see if the reason I had a bog today was that little fuel screen in the carb...

use a voltmeter to ohm out the switch..

First off I am newb.. Only reason this ski is back together is help from a very good jet ski mechanic.

Well I got the ski fired up after I overnighted the s/s/s and relay.. dang it.. They will be needed sooner that later.. Its my wiring, I was moving all the wires and making sure everything looked good, hit the starter button and she fired right up..
I am a terrible mechanic (only way you get better is to turn wrenches more), I don't own a voltmeter ( buying one) and have been using a buddies well equipped garage. So loading her up and will go through the wiring. thank you all very much for the help.

Don't feel bad. I replaced the computer (under warranty) four times on my wife's Dodge Dakota. It was clearly issuing a computer failure trouble code. Around the fourth computer I decided to use QDC Contact Cleaner and micro Q-Tips to clean the three bzillion wire plugs that plug into the computer. Both the inside (where they are protected) and the back side where they are exposed to road grime in the engine compartment. Result: It was dirty 5-volt/low voltage sensor contacts which were the problem. One electrician on the Dakota forum said this to me which has stuck ever since:

"MECHANICS LOOK TO THE COMPONENT. ELECTRICIANS LOOK AT THE WIRING."

Keep the relay. You will eventually need it. Send the switch back.

And CONGRATULATIONS! It was YOU not your mechanic that found the problem !!!! You are well on your way to learning how to take care of your pony !!!! :)

Hold off on the bling and get yourself a good steering system and bars to help that ski turn! I can't imagine riding with that much power with the dry pipe and stock steering haha
Yes sir..
I just got riva bars but I believe they are same as stock, I haven’t checked yet but are they wider than stock?.. What suggestions do you have for the steering system? Quick turn?
My adjustable rev limiter cdi arrives Wednesday, she is about to be a whole lot meaner IMO, but we will see.

Thank you my man…
I am doing my best. I pray we figure it out tomorrow. Although you said to return the switch, I actually need it, my lanyard switch is about to fail, I have taken it apart, stretched the spring and now how I have her running is electrical tape around the lanyard horse shoe to thicken it.
Plugs looked good, maybe even a bit still rich but I am ok with that.

Thank you.. I am learning everyday. I will keep plugging away and learning. Thank you and all dudes on here that keep it real and don’t eat up the newbie’s

Just went to charge the wife’s 550sx battery and the hood strap broke.. not a huge deal but damn jet skis are keeping me on my toes.

I like the over pivot steering myself. Gets the max steering throw and you're no longer swinging when you steer since the bars are directly over the pivot point. And it gets you more forward in the tray for more aggressive riding position. Shortening the pole will help as well. But it depends on what type of riding you're doing as well.

The over pivot steering is a acquired taste.. imo.
The rickters I have ridden with it’s almost too much.. maybe it’s the dasa 950 motor scaring the licorice out of me. Who knows.
Again this is my first stand up.

If you are using the 7/8" style bars the Cold Fusion turnplate is one of the best values in a steering system.
It uses the stock bushings and bar clamps.

Today was a good day.. We checked all the wiring, replaced all the internals in my s/s/s with the new OEM ones and installed the new bars. Fingers crossed we will be ready for the holiday weekend, I am feeling good about it and the ski is good to go..
I also didn’t realize my handlebars were for kids.. lol The new Riva ones are a lot wider, it will definitely help in the handing department for sure. Really stoked to check them out,
