What are they held on with?

He sends the hull with the holds roughly sized for your type of riding shoe and shoe size. They are wedged in there, but unglued. You can add padding below the blocks to tighten them up and then you contact cement them down.

Shaped my own tray and holds out of foam on my Roundnose.

sweet setup jamie, that looks really nice,I rode a friends extra padded tray and couldnt beleive how much impact it absorbed, his is ramped about half the height yours is,Im really considering doing this now to the sf. Even small flat landed reintres jack hammer my back with minimal padding now.

Under padding is a must bro ESPECIALLY on a carbon Superfreak! Theyre great skis but they land hard. The padding makes a big difference and is well worth it. I've always run 26mm plush underpadding but I went thicker on this Superjet and will go thicker on my next hull

Yea if you land this sf even close to flat, its like lightning comes up through your body,It has decent padding but nothing thick like that,Dont think ive ever seen a sf really padded and ramped in the back like that, prolly the way the footwells sit so low in the tray

My Superfreak tray was huge! I didn't turf or pad this ski myself though, I bought it used and just ran it as is. Mine had the Gunwhales thinned out behind the holds which gave plenty of room for a kick tail. I'm guessing your holds are somewhat forward like this which should give you plenty of space behind the holds for a kick tail. If not you could have more arch to your kick tail. Also depending how you ride (stance) you could put more padding on the tray and less on the holds to help absorb impact when landing

i ride with my back foot further up,I hate the big hump in the middle where the pump rises up. it keeps my ankle on angle all the time,I need to try and raise the padding that high on the whole back end and ramp it a bit

My stance isn't that wide anymore either. Depending how tall the hump is you could add padding all around the hump to bring the tray level then add your 26mm over the whole tray. That way you have a level tray and plenty of padding

i dont think i can do that.the footholds are really low in comparison to the padding hump in middle of tray. I could ramp it up at back but since i dont stand that far back it really wouldnt help. Id like to see some more SF hulls setup for surf stance, they dont seem very friendly to this kinda setup.

Just redid the turf on my bot. I didn't like how hard the molded diamond turf was, and also the footholds were super loose and just plain horrible. Went with 1 inch extra soft on the bottom, a extra inch for a kick tail, and 1 inch padding in the holds. Now it feels like kicking into a pillow! I also added a rear tow loop to be fair with my friends and take my share of the tow ins. I think it turned out good...

What you guys running on the rickter trays? Heard factory is 9mm. My original turf is shredded under the holds. Just picked up a sheet of molded black turf to take care of it. Bump this thread back up its awesome!
