Custom/Hybrid Footrocket Talk

I'm wondering if its extended because the metal knuckle of the steering cable doesn't fit out of the through hull fitting. At least that is how mine is with a jetmaniac steering cable. I have to get a drill bit to open up the I.D. Of the fitting.

Mine fit, it's the same cable. It's just a little tight. Use some elbow grease. Oh and make sure the long end of the cable is through the hull....thanks Chris.

I had to get pretty physical with mine to get it through. I can't remember for sure, but I think I might have opened mine up a little bit too.

Are you speaking of the end with the pivoting eye bolt? lf you are, just put some grease in there and use some "elbow" grease on it like waterdon'thurt said.

ill check it out tonight
maybe thats whats cause the trim to be damn near impossible to pull
cheers

You may have a cable that has some wear spots, rust or bound up somewhere. But the xmetal trim is also hard to pull back too.

Rode the rocket today with Hornedogg and Mr X2.l cut the ride plate yesterday 1.5",and l had previously cut 2" off. l run a 760gp nozzle which already gives the back some looseness.lt worked well, gives it real turning.Good idea if you plan on buying one,get two plates.l think most FR owners feel they can cut one ride plate and still have the other one.

l haven't seen anyone else post up they have bought one! This is an awesome riding hull, from large to small size guys.l have mine dialed in real well now and it will go where ever you point it.Great aggressive, plus be able to chase a boat wake down like the best of the hulls out there.

I couldn't agree more...this hull is mind boggling how it can be so tiny but so incredibly stable. It's way more stable at high speed than my full length Matrix was, but it's also extremely agile. I have cut 3" off my plate and I'm 6'4 230 lbs and it still rides awesome, I'll be cutting it even shorter right away here too.

Hink,it does surprise a lot of guys that have rode mine that it is stable at speed. But l think l am done cutting on the plate for now.Has a nice feel and l need to spend some more ride time with it.
Time for another surf trip! Just waiting on some decent conditions in Savannah.

l must have had a small pinhole in my coupler between headpipe and chamber.lt all started when doing an inspection in the engine bay when l saw a quarter inch hole in the bilge pump. The cover for the drive couplers vibrated a hole in the top.So pulled it out and noticed some nasty gray exhaust crap all over the motor mount,m/m plate and all over the area around and behind the exh chamber.Pulled the engine to clean the entire area and found that the motor mount was loose too.Cleaned everything up,re-shimmed and put everything back in.

l will say that after building a ski and a number rides that it is always good to basically pull the engine and visually inspect all of it, including the pump area.Leaks, anything loose, etc.l'm sure we have some perfectionists out there that don't need to do this but always wise.

Work and the girlfriend and waiting on parts have been killing my progress. I'm still optimistic that'll ill be riding by July 1st though! Just finished making my own foot holds yesterday...

IMG_1900.jpgIMG_2029.jpgIMG_2030.jpg Here's some pics from my build. This is my first AM hull build....what a learning experience. Getting down to the home stretch on this thing, time has not been on my side with this thing. For those that are wondering, Thrust new 5 gal tank fits with the power factor. Another couple weeks and it should be in the water. Oh, and I think this may be the only Kawi footrocket so far in the States.

Glad to see another getting ready to hit the water! Wonder how many are in the US now?
