Hostile. Son, you needed to have been around 10 years ago when a waterdawg thread started. Damn near each one got locked.

Seems like that was the same thing with every backie chan thread posted. Was WDK worse back then?

By the way Rosie, Rips look about 100x better than that hull you were going to be getting. That thing was ugly..

So on the RIP, Jeff puts in a female pvc end just like OEM does for the steering cable. So you can choose to use an oem style cable housing, or you can do what I like I'm doing since my cable is too small to work well with the oem housing. Jeff includes a plug for the threads, so I just drilled a hole in the middle of it for my ke bike cable style cable. Only have to seal it with a dab of silicone.
Now it's off to the hardware store to get more goodies..

Okay, so I changed what I was going to do about my trim cable. On my way to the hardware store, I remembered that I had a cable gripper and that could make things easier. Not only would it seal the hole, but it would also hold the cable in place.. Tried drilling out the trim plug for it, but I drilled too wide and it ripped the head right off of the threads.
So instead of that, I drilled the cap of a steering cable housing and pressed the cable gripper in. It was a real tight fit so I don't even have to use an adhesive to hold it in which will be nice! However, I still don't 100% trust a cable gripper due to the force that is put on the trim nozzle, so I wanted another securing point. At the hardware store I found a double sided conduit clamp, then cut one side off, drilled and tapped a hole in the nozzle, and then I'm able to secure the cable there too. Stupid simple and will be bulletproof. 20150912_144730.jpg 20150912_144741.jpg
I know I know, it's a shame to run such a crusty nozzle on this beautiful ski. Over the winter I'll sand blast it and paint it for sure.

Setting up a pole bracket on this hull is super easy. I don't know about other MFGs, but in Jeff's mold, he leaves indentations where the bracket bolts are so there's no measuring. Just bolt up and go. It was a little stressful drilling into my hull, but all went fine haha.

Did a few plate to plate backies on the shop cart and did a little brapping, and the pole length seems actually pretty decent. I absoutely love the way this ski looks, especially with the red pole tubes, Going to have a lot of red accents! Snapchat-3228507964261936890.jpg Snapchat--4425980039276734944.jpg

Got some more goodies from the maniac today as well!

Mocked up the pump a few times today, and I don't think I'll even need any shims. when sliding the midshaft on, there are no gaps around the side and I don't have to put any pressure on the shaft to line up any of the inserts to get bolts in. Jeff also told me that I won't need any shims either due to how good he aligns them..So far everything lines up nicely. Only thing I'm not a fan of is how stiff the hose is for the push connect fittings. It's a PITA to get on OEM fittings, and even with heat I can't get it on one of my pump fittings. I love the push connects though. So what I'm going to do is cut the hose, add a straight barb, and then use flexible cooling hose to attach to the barbs on the pump and exhaust mani. Makes it real easy then. You have to get a little creative with a new build, that's for sure.

MAP gas also works wonders for getting couplers off midshafts..Made it real easy. These skis require a raider 1100 midshaft due to the bulkhead placement and to be able to run a stock length pre 08 driveshaft.
