Ok the ride plates are weak. That has happened to trendsetters made ride plates. That's prob why they gave him two. I just think for all the bitching about a deal gone wrong there should be some proof of what was promised and delivered. If your going to continually bash a company you should at least back it up with proof.

I bet bach is right. If we see the emails we can finally prove how Smitty agreed to paying full price for a junk hull that would take hours of modification and fixing to be usable.
If I didn't know both sides of the story then I would be right with everyone else on this site about the topic.

What do you mean "both sides of the story". Are you saying he ordered the hull heavier than he wanted then asked for the hood not to fit and throw in a couple of ride plates that will melt in the water not in your hands?

I'm saying he didn't order crap. This isn't a pizza. The hull was already made. It's what he agreed to purchase and for what price. Big difference.
Again if the accusations were actually backed up with paper work of some sort or emails then there would be no questions

So he knew it was a piece of poop before he bought it? Why would they even sell it like that in the first place?
Bigger question is that if he knew about the hull before hand why did he still buy it. Unless maybe there were deals made and maybe the price was adjusted properly

Not adding up at all. We need some proof here. Why would he knowingly buy a poop hull, receive it, and come on here to bitch about it once it does in fact turn out to be bad..? Makes no sense. Plus if that were the case It would literally take any single person from the burtka clan 2 minutes to explain that in a single post instead of just wear the bashing. Yeah people say the x has to do with almost none of the sales, but really? Clearly they were aware of this

I agree completely, lets see the proof they promised a 75lb hull and everything else he claims. I would love to see it too. And a receipt he paid full price for such a bad hull.
Also I don't believe FF or backie chan are on the X and were aware but they were trying to resolve it with the customer and not wanting to bash the customer on a well known forum. But I don't work for or represent them so I'll do it.

Probably wouldn't hold up in court but he posted on his facebook page:
"We have our own system for building these it's a combination of techniques. I can not share all our secrets. These glass hull will involve some hand lay. Strength and economy is our goal. We are shooting for the 75lbs to 85lbs range. We use Quality stainless steel hardware. Also an aluminum pump shoe. Our hull builder is an expert in fiberglass molding. His work can be seen across the country in several areas. He has done boats as well as other vehicles. He is not someone you would know from the jetski industry."
Yes in the beginning they were shooting for that weight but realized the hulls would crack just like some of the ones from the previous maker did. But I want to see the email where they promised him a 75 lb hull. Never know Maybe he is right.

Omg you guys its a ride plate yes the plate design is garbage I went through 2 carbon and epoxy ones before I got my mold and played with the thickness of the plates and what areas need what kinda help on the plate I made a few for select people that didn't even receive one from trendsetters and a few for people that were getting them ripped off by water pressures
First of all the mounting holes on the chines are the most ridiculous thing I've seen when I found out FF bought the molds I messaged them on facebook saying that design needs to change or you going to get a bunch of people complaining about it
Second if you are not running a intake grate or atleast a piece of something for fill the gap between the pump shoe and the plate it's easily going to rip it off and you need silicone on all the gaps at the front of the plate so water can not get into the there and put stress on the plate trying to pull it off
Third that plate in the picture doesn't look like it was put on wrong or look like it was installed wrong the thin glass piece is still not separated from the hull it looks like the layers were not able to hold together
